Abstract: The specification discloses a pull-down, storage unit for use in overhead areas. The unit includes a bin and a frame for attaching the bin to a ceiling. The rear of the bin is pivotally suspended from the frame. The front of the bin is releasably secured to the frame by a cable and catch system and may be moved between a raised closed position and a lowered open position. The bin is secured on the frame when closed and suspended on the cables when open.

Abstract: A tubular skylight having an improved dome improving the efficiency of the skylight. The dome includes an integral prism in a portion of its outer surface to reflect light downwardly through the skylight. The dome is hemispherical, and the prism includes a plurality of grooves extending along great circles that pass through the apex of the dome. The prism covers only an angular segment of the hemispherical dome; and the grooves stop short of the apex of the dome.

Abstract: A window assembly having a pair of window frame halves each including a plurality of screw bosses. The screw bosses are arranged to align in male/female pairs when the frame halves are brought together in proper alignment. The mating male and female screw bosses are frictionally interfitted to releasably intersecure the frame halves during storage, transportation, and installation.
Abstract: A penetration resistant door light adapted to withstand impact from flying debris as might occur in a hurricane or other high-wind condition. The door light includes inner and outer frame halves that support a panel assembly within an opening formed in a door. The panel assembly includes a sheet or layer of transparent impact resistant material such as a polycarbonate or laminated glass. The impact resistant sheet is structurally secured to at least screws extend through all of the inner frame half, the impact resistant sheet, and the outer frame half. In an alternative embodiment, a structural adhesive intersecures the impact resistant sheet and the outer frame half.
Abstract: A skylight with a modular shaft. The skylight includes a curb surrounding an opening formed in a roof. The curb defines a downwardly opening channel with at least one serrated wall to receive the modular shaft. The modular shaft extends from the curb to an opening formed in a ceiling and includes a number of panels secured to one another by a number of corner connections. A hook with at least one serrated wall is mounted to each of the panels. The hooks fit into the channel such that the serrated walls contact one another and secure the shaft to the curb by a ratcheting effect.
Abstract: A window frame connector having a generally tubular body to fit over aligned screw bosses of opposite window frame halves to align and releasably intersecure the frame halves for transportation. The connector includes a pair of diametrically opposed longitudinal slots in each of its opposite ends. The slots in the two ends are longitudinally aligned. Either connector end may be pinched to open the opposite end, and the connector slots receive ribs supporting the interconnected screw bosses.

Abstract: The specification discloses a one-piece injection-molded screw hole plug fitting over a screw head to aesthetically close a screw hole. The element defining the screw hole and the top of the screw hole plug have nonplanar, but mating, contours so that the molding and plug define a generally continuous surface. Preferably, the screw hole plug friction fits within the screw hole and over the screw head to retain the plug in position.
Abstract: A door construction is disclosed having a peripheral frame, a glazing panel, and front and rear unitary facings, each facing having an upper door light casing portion and a lower door plant panel portion. The facings are placed back-to-back over a single, central opening in the frame, clamping the frame and glazing panel between the edges of the facings. The door thus constructed has the appearance of traditional woodwork and avoids the alignment and parts inventory problems of the prior art.
