Abstract: In a state where a rotary member has stopped at a position other than a neutral position, an actuating lever can be returned to the neutral position by an urging device, and retained in the neutral position, by shifting a switching member from a connecting state to a disconnecting state. When the rotary member which has been at the position other than the neutral position is returned to the neutral position, the switching member staying in the disconnecting state is shifted to the connecting state to establish a coupling between the rotary member and the actuating lever.

  • Patent number: 6435574
Abstract: The lock device has a latch which is interposed between a base member and a reinforcing plate and is for rotating between an engagement position and an engagement released position. The engagement position is where the latch is to be engaged with a striker when closing an openable body. In addition, the lock device has a locking lever for constraining the latch at the engagement position. The latch by a latch shaft and the locking lever by a lever shaft each are mounted to a back side of the base member with the reinforcing plate. While the reinforcing plate is provided with a projection for fixing engagement which projects toward inside as seen from outside. The projection for fixing engagement fixes a detecting switch to be supported for detecting movement of the latch by fitting in a fitting portion provided to a switch body of the detecting switch.

  • Patent number: 6431023
Abstract: A lever pivoting structure is mounted on an inner panel of a vehicle door. The structure comprises a first circular opening formed in the inner panel and a shaft member including a body portion, an enlarged flange portion formed on a rear end of the body portion and a stopper head portion formed on a front end of the body portion. The stopper head portion establishes a latched engagement with the first circular opening once the stopper head portion is put into the first circular opening. A pivot lever is formed with a second circular opening through which the body portion of the shaft member passes. The pivot lever has a first surface to which the enlarged flange portion faces and a second surface to which the stopper head portion faces. Resilient stopper tongues are integrally formed on the body portion of the shaft member and extend toward the enlarged flange portion while gradually separating from an axis of said shaft member.

  • Publication number: 20020084668
Abstract: In closure apparatus and method for an elongated lid of a compartment, the lid being pivotally supported on a wall defining the compartment via a pair of mutually spaced apart hinge arms, a control device controls each of a first driving device and an electromagnetic clutch to make a deformation of the lid to the compartment return to its original form in response to an output of the locked state detection signal from the detecting section. In the first embodiment, a rotation direction of a reversible motor is changed to a reverse direction which corresponds to an open direction of the lid to drive the lid toward the open direction in response to the output of the locked state detection signal.

  • Publication number: 20020050721
Abstract: An automotive door lock assembly comprises a lock/unlock mechanism and an electric actuator which actuates the lock/unlock mechanism. At an initial stage of a door unlocking operation of the electric actuator, a passive lever is shifted from an engaged position where a lock/unlock lever and a sub-lever are engaged to move together to a disengaged position where the engagement between the lock/unlock lever and the sub-lever is canceled. When the passive lever is shifted to the disengaged position, the sub-lever can be quickly shifted to the unlock position by the force of a spring prior to shifting of the lock/unlock lever to the unlock position from the lock position by the electric actuator. With this arrangement, the electric actuator can be made of a relatively low power electric motor, and the lock/unlock mechanism can be quickly shifted to a door unlocking condition upon manipulation of a door handle.
