Abstract: A rotary cutter which includes an elongated handle having an aperture extending through its one end, a shaft extending through the aperture so as to be supported by the handle, a disc blade rotatably mounted on the shaft and lying in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the shaft, and a member engageable with the shaft, with a bearing projection formed on the handle coaxially with the aperture.

Abstract: A replaceable blade type knife in which the blade is replaced at an intermediate point between opposite longitudinal ends of the case body so as to improve the operational efficiency and safety of the knife. The knife includes a restrictive arrangement for enabling dismounting of the sliding member from the guide grooves of the case body at a specific position within the guide stroke of the sliding member other than at the opposite ends of the guide stroke and for unreleasably restricting the sliding member in the guide grooves of the case body at positions other than the specific position so as to allow the sliding member to slide in the guide grooves of the case body, and thus, the knife has been made compact in size so as to be suitable for portable use, with a wide range of application to office works, handicraft, etc.

Abstract: A rotary cutter comprises a generally elongated plate-like handle having a bearing aperture defined at one end thereof, a shaft member supported by the handle and extending through the bearing aperture, a disc blade rotatably mounted on the shaft and lying in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the shaft member and in parallel to any one of the opposed surfaces of the handle, and a device for adjustably applying a frictional force to the disc blade in a direction generally perpendicular to the disc blade. The disc blade is, when the rotary cutter is in use, rotated in contact with the material to be cut in a controlled manner.

Abstract: A handy safety knife comprises a generally flat holder having a chamber and an opening both defined therein, an elongated blade member, a manipulatable member carried by the holder for movement between projected and retracted position and operatively coupled to the blade member, a spring element for biasing the manipulatable member to the retracted position to hold the blade member in position to be concealed within the chamber, and, if desired, a wedge member for retaining the manipulatable member in the projected position once it has been moved thereto.

Abstract: A cutting device comprises a holder including a pair of spaced plate members connected at one peripheral edge to each other to define an accommodation space therebetween. A cutting disc is, either rotatably or fixedly, mounted on a shaft member and situated within the accommodation space. Rotatably mounted on the shaft member and arranged in the vicinity of and side-by-side relation to the cutting disc is at least one padding disc which acts to retain a material to be cut in position during rotation thereof. Rotation of the padding disc is effected in contact with the material as the cutting device is moved along an intended line of cutting during actual cutting operation.
