  • Patent number: 10920909
Abstract: A pipeline shield is formed of modular pipeline shield panels into a generally tubular shape to fittingly envelope a pipeline. Each panel is formed of a rectangular sheet of durable material formed or formable into an arcuate shape having longitudinal ribs projecting radially from a surface of the sheet and defining longitudinal valleys, and coupling means configured for secure assembly with other modular pipeline shield panels to form the pipeline shield. The pipeline shield reduces or prevents damage from impact or abrasion when the pipeline is lowered into a trench and buried. The longitudinal ribs may extend an entire length of the panel, or may be less than an entire length of the panel and longitudinally staggered to facilitate rolling of the pipeline in a roller cradle during installation. Drainage holes provide for drainage of liquid away from the pipeline or to provide a path for cathodic protection current.

  • Patent number: 10775112
Abstract: A grey water heat recovery apparatus has first and second passes arranged in counter-flow orientation. It has a hot side for grey water, and a cold side for fresh water supplied under pressure. It extracts heat from the grey water drains of a building. The fresh water is carried in tubing modules in series immersed in a grey water sump in a cylindrical plastic or stainless steel pipe. The coils have a return leg such that both ends of the fresh water coil are carried out through the same upper end pipe closure, without a pressurized line wall penetration in the walls of the pipe. There is a non-electrically conductive barrier between the fresh water and grey water flow paths. The apparatus has a leak detection circuit and co-operable bypass valves. The entire assembly may be enclosed in a unitary external housing with easily accessible connection fittings.

  • Publication number: 20200003335
Abstract: A conduit weighting device has a container to contain ballast. The container is formed from flexible sheet material and has a top opening to receive the ballast. The device has flaps extending from respective opposite edges of the top opening of the container. The container forms an underside channel sized and shaped to receive a conduit for conforming placement of the conduit weighting device on the conduit to weight the conduit. The flaps are sized and shaped: when in an open arrangement, to extend beyond edges of a trench containing the conduit to hold open the top opening while receiving the ballast material; and when in a closed arrangement, to close the top opening of the container. The weighting device may be placed on an entrenched conduit before filling, and then filled in place with locally-available backfill. The device may be transported to the site in a collapsed compact form.

  • Patent number: 10463637
Abstract: This invention relates to a naproxen formulation suitable for encapsulation into a soft gel dosage unit by increasing the stability, concentration, and bioavailability of naproxen. Fill formulations of the invention may include other active pharmaceutical ingredients and combinations of two or more active pharmaceutical ingredients. This invention also provides for adjusting pH values of fill formulations without additional process steps. A process for increasing the achievable concentration of an active NSAID pharmaceutical ingredient, such as naproxen, relative to fill composition for dosage units is also provided. The highly concentrated formulation of this invention permits a reduction in the fill volume or dosage unit size, or an increase in concentration of the active pharmaceutical ingredient per dosage form. The invention also relates to a formulation of optimal stability suitable for supporting a fill composition compatible with the soft gel dosage unit.
