Abstract: A double-screw compressor for supplying gas, such as air, to a gas consumer, is provided. The double-screw compressor includes two interacting rotors for compressing the gas and a toothed gearing. The toothed gearing includes a gearing housing with two opposite end walls made of a first material. Two gearwheels made of a second material which has a thermal expansion coefficient different from the thermal expansion coefficient of the first material are mounted in the end walls. In order to reduce the effect of the temperature on the backlash, both gearwheels are designed with one and the same pressure angle which is smaller than 15°.
Abstract: A screw compressor, especially adapted for use as a supercharger for an internal combustion engine, comprises a housing having a barrel section (2) preferably made from aluminum and two end sections (3,4), in which housing a pair of screw rotors (7,8) are mounted. The end sections (3,4) are provided with projections (29) inserted into the end portions of the barrel section (2) by forced fit between surfaces (30,31) of the projections. The end portions of the barrel section and are also secured to the barrel section by screw joints.
Abstract: A rotor for a screw rotor machine, which rotor comprises a metal shaft (3, 13) and a rotor body (1) of plastics material moulded on the shaft, which is provided with a number of radially extending projections (4) with equal distribution around the shaft, which projections (4) are provided with essentially peripherally extending wings (5) originating from the ridge of the projections (4).
