Abstract: An ad in a movie can be a static ad having a position in the movie that cannot be moved, or a dynamic ad having a position in the movie that can be changed. When a viewer of the movie wishes to skip a portion of the movie containing the ad, the playback system determines whether the ad is static or dynamic. If the ad is static, then only the portion of the movie preceding the static ad can be skipped, that is, the ad is unskippable; this technique is referred to as “bounceback” since the end of the skip bounces back to the start of the static ad. If the ad is dynamic, then the ad is moved to after the end of the skip; this technique is referred to as “slipad” since the ad slips to later in the movie. When a movie has multiple ads, some can be static and some can be dynamic.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing enterprise-level interrelated content items used in Web sites. In accordance with the present disclosure, site objects, channel objects and content objects are associated with each other to form a hierarchical site structure. The content objects are linked to corresponding content items in a content repository, and are grouped together by association with channel objects in the site structure. Each of the objects in the site structure has an associated set of content services and can be deployed individually or in combination, while maintaining references to the related objects in the hierarchical site structure.

Abstract: A system for managing message volume and timing, which permits first and second messages to be spaced apart over time, with the pacing controlled in part by a characteristic of the second message. The system sends the first message to an intended recipient. The system determines a separation based on a pacing algorithm and sends the second message to the recipient according to the separation.

Abstract: Techniques for transmitting information to a recipient under their control are described. In some situations, the techniques are used in conjunction with a fax delivery system to provide, as part of a connection established to perform a fax transmission, a variety of functionalities to a human recipient that is participating as part of the connection, such as when the human recipient is contacted in error. In addition, in some situations, an interactive voice response system is used to receive and interpret input from a human recipient, such as in response to one or more control selections or options provided to the human recipient.

Abstract: A data binding system facilitates binding of a data component to a feature of a software component. Prior to the binding, a graphical indication of the software component and a graphical indication of the feature of the software component are displayed. In addition, an indication of an element of the data component is displayed in a display area approximately adjacent to the displayed software component. The data binding system receives a user input command to bind the data component to the feature of the software component. The user input command may include dragging the indication of an element of the data component from the data component display area to the feature of the software component and subsequently dropping it on the feature. As a result, the data binding system automatically generates script or code that provides executable instructions to bind the feature of the software component to the data component.

Abstract: A network editor comprises a central location with stored videos such as movies that can be edited by editors at remote locations. An editor receives a representation of a video, and specifies edits relative to the representation, enabling the editor to use a device lacking sufficient processing capability to edit the video directly, and also reducing the volume of information transmitted between the central location and the remote editor. The central location is able to provide the edited movie in a format suitable to the display capabilities of the viewing device of the viewer requesting the edited video.

Abstract: A movie editor converts a received movie into a proxy format, and creates a texture strip representing the frames of the movie. An editor can use the texture strip to edit the movie, rather than editing the movie directly. Deep tags and/or special effects can be defined for the texture strip using a graphical interface. The graphical interface enables movies to be combined into a playback product according to a control structure graphically presented in the graphical interface.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for integrated content presentation via cells arranged geometrically in a cellular environment. Users can navigate various orientations and zoom states of the cellular environment to access information via different applications, different media types, different visual representations and from different underlying content sources. The information can be organized according to various logical relationships. Upon receiving an indication of a zoom state associated with a cell or a group of cells arranged in the cellular environment, a content reference at that zoom state is retrieved. Further, the content reference is resolved to retrieve and output content, including a visual representation associated with the zoom state.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide a “lazy” approach in caching a hierarchical navigation tree with one or more associated permission trees. In one embodiment, only a portion of a cached permission tree is updated. One embodiment of a method may comprise determining whether a dirty node exists by comparing tree timestamps of the permission tree and the master tree. If the tree timestamp of the master tree is temporally more recent than the tree timestamp of the permission tree, the permission tree has a dirty node and the method may operate to check node timestamps of the master and permission trees. This process may be repeated until the dirty node is found, at which time a portion of the permission tree associated with the dirty node may be reconstructed, rather than the entire permission tree itself, thereby eliminating or significantly reducing access time to the cached permission tree.

Abstract: In embodiments disclosed herein disclose methods and systems for providing a multitenant facsimile server. The computer instructions may be executable to maintain a set of entity information, wherein the entity information defines a plurality of tenants, and maintain a database configured to store transmitted and received fax documents corresponding to a plurality of tenants. The computer instructions may be further executable to receive a facsimile document at the fax server, wherein the facsimile document comprises one of a document to be transmitted or a received fax. The computer instructions may be further executable to identify a tenant associated with the document based on an identifier. Further, the computer instructions may be executable to store the document in the database, wherein the document is associated with the tenant in the database.

Abstract: Search engines today are capable of incorporating numeric scoring modifiers from controlling applications into their relevance computations. Challenges arise in keeping these modifiers current, given that they may change over time. Embodiments provide a new way to compute numeric value decay for efficient relevance computation without having to rely on a controlling application. The controlling application can set a value for a modifier of an object managed by the controlling application and the controlling application can perform operations on the modifier. However, the controlling application does not need to keep track of the modifier and compute the modifier value independently. Rather, a search engine is configured to perform decay computation(s) and adjust the modifier value on a regular basis or on demand. The search engine ensures that modifier values for all the objects indexed by the search engine are always valid—within acceptable ranges and with acceptable adjustments.

Abstract: In some embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods provide a client-server infrastructure capable of supporting a variety of asynchronous and synchronous collaboration activities in a so-called collaboration place. Some of these activities include chatting, viewing and/or editing one or more data files, and sharing one or more applications, data files, and/or displays. The client-server infrastructure supports seamless navigation between the supported asynchronous and synchronous activities in the collaboration place. Additionally, the client-server architecture supports data persistence, so that data files associated with the collaboration place can be stored for subsequent access.

Abstract: An automated rule-based system for facilitating delivery of a fax document from a source to a destination over a network where an initial delivery attempt has been unsuccessful. Rules may be stored in a database. The database may include rules based on past delivery information or new delivery instructions. When an input condition is determined, the database may be traversed to determine an action based on the set of rules. The actions may include one or more of resubmitting the fax document to the network for a next delivery attempt, cancelling the document, and identifying the destination as a technical problem. The input conditions may include an identification of non-business days and non-business hours.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for data transfer are presented herein. Specifically, embodiments of such a data transfer methodology may utilize one or more transmission channels for the transmission of the data to be transferred. In addition, a control channel in a different protocol than the transmission channels may be utilized to transmit control information between the sender and recipient. The rate at which data is sent on the transmission channels may be adjusted or the transmission of data on the transmission channel prioritized.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for a distribution manager are presented herein. Specifically, embodiments may receive a request for support for a mobile application and determine a platform server to support the mobile application based on capacity data associated with a set of platform servers in an application table associated with the mobile application. Embodiments may also deliver identification of the platform server over the network, the identification of the platform server comprises connectivity information configured to allow the mobile application to connect to the platform server.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide systems and methods for mapping objects. One embodiment can include a server providing an object management system managing objects in a repository and an application program interface for interfacing with the object management system. The system can also include an object mapping system configured to provide an object map of the objects in the repository in a manner that allows a user to easily navigate and take actions on the objects.

Abstract: A system and method of processing a flow of information may include capturing information for use by a workflow system, the information including internal content that is internal to the workflow system and external content that is external to the workflow system.
