Patents Assigned to Optatech Oy
  • Patent number: 6127589
Abstract: The invention concerns a preparation process for 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene in which 1-(p-tolyl)-2-methylbutane and/or 1-(p-tolyl)-2-methylbutene are dehydrocyclisized using a reduced vanadium catalyst. 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene can be used as starting material when manufacturing polyethylenenaphthalate. The conversion of this method is good and the selectivity of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene can be improved by reducing the catalyst.

  • Patent number: 5993696
Abstract: The invention comprises a thermoplastic elastomer blend which is composed ofa) about 10-90 w-% of a thermoplastic elastomer component which is chosen from the following ones:a styrene block copolymer of the type A-B-A, where A stands for a polystyrene block and B stands for a soft or elastic polymer block;a blend of an olefin homopolymer or olefin copolymer with a thermoplastic or crosslinked elastomer, andb) about 90-1 w-% of an inherently electrically conductive polymer component comprising polyaniline or its derivative which has been doped by a protonic acid.

  • Patent number: 5952534
Abstract: The invention is related to a process for making 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene from p-xylene and 1- or 2-butene or butadiene via 1-(p-tolyl)-2-methylbutane or 1-(p-tolyl)-2-methylbutane. 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene can be used for making polyethylenenaphthalate.
