Patents Assigned to Opti-Holding AG
  • Patent number: 4002045
Abstract: A slide-fastener stringer foundation is formed of support tapes which are warp-knit. Two different types of weft filaments are used, one being textured and of limited shrinkability and the other being highly shrinkable. The tape so knitted is heat-shrunk so as to cause the shrinkable yarn to form the textured yarn into a mass of bulges or loops on the surface of the tape, thereby imparting to this tape a very smooth texture.

  • Patent number: 3982988
Abstract: Slide-fastener stringers are made by extruding continuous strands of synthetic resin in a form having a plurality of cavities open on one side and defining the coupling head, shank and connecting portion of a multiplicity of coupling members which together form a coupling element adapted to be mounted along the edge of a support tape. An embossing tool is thrust into the connecting members and/or the shanks of the coupling members so as to plastically deform the thermoplastic material and produce humps along the surfaces of the coupling element which are thermally bonded to the support tape.

  • Patent number: 3964135
Abstract: A preformed multiturn coupling element of the helical-coil or meander type is juxtaposed with a tape and a loop is formed by a stitching thread whose needle is thrust upwardly between each pair of turns. A gripper engages the loop and draws it laterally out of the coupling element to reintroduce it between another pair of turns where it is engaged by another loop thrust through the tape. In one embodiment the thread passes through the tape and an overlying filler cord, its loops being drawn half-way around that cord and being interlinked at points between the cord and the tape.

  • Patent number: 3942635
Abstract: In order to wrap individual slide-fastener units in plastic display envelopes enabling the testing of their sliders without removal from the package, a continuous strip of preferably transparent thermoplastic sheet material is advanced together with an integral series of such units past a cutting station where the units are separated from one another with simultaneous severance of the plastic strip. The latter, on approaching the cutting station, is folded from opposite sides around the outer edges of the carrier bands supporting the interlinked coupling elements of the units, the resulting flaps being kept spaced apart by a median gap exposing the juxtaposed coupling elements as well as the associated slider. The flaps are fastened with light adhesive bonding to opposite ends of the stringer tapes cut from the carrier bands.
