Abstract: A system and method are provided for remotely monitoring images from an image capturing device. Image data from an image capturing component is received where image data represents images of a scene in a field of view of the image capturing component. The image data may be analyzed to determine that the scene has changed. A determination may be made that the scene has changed. In response to this determination being made, a communication may be transmitted to a designated device, recipient or network location. The communication may be informative that a scene change or event occurred. The communication may be in the form of a notification or an actual image or series of images of the scene after the change or event.

Voice files may be received having associations with other data items, such as images or records. A corresponding text file is generated for each of the one or more voice files using programmatic means, such as a speech-to-text application. Each text file is provided an association with a data item based on the association of the voice file that served as the basis of its creation. Each text file is then made available for the performance of search and selection operations that result in the identification of associated data items.

Abstract: A system and method for targeting content to users of a device or network of user-operated devices. In an embodiment, profile information is determined about a user's media consumption activities. One or more inputs are received from an external source to specify what content to target to the user. One or more content items are selected to target to the user based on the profile information and the one or more inputs. The selection of content items is performed without communicating the profile information outside of the user's device or network of user-operated devices.

Abstract: A directory view component runs on a host terminal. The directory view component is configured to interface with a file manager application resident on the host terminal. The file manager application provides an interface to a directory of the host terminal. The directory view component interfaces with the file manager to generate view data of the directory for use on a remote device.
