Patent number: 5643290Abstract: A ring loader device is used for expanding an elastic cincture band prior to application to a user's male sex organ for cincturing an engorged condition thereof as a treatment for impotence. A cone component has a conical shaped pyramid with vertical grooves. A corresponding dome component has matable ribs which are received in the cone grooves. The ribs enter the grooves and align the cone and dome as they are matably pressed together. As a prior step, a suitable elastic ring is placed over the tapered smaller end of the cone component, and becomes expanded against the cone outer surface as the dome is pressed onto the cone. The cone may include particular surface contours for corresponding receipt of inside diameter features of the elastic ring, such as a urethra channel or radially inward points for added cincturing pressure. The cone and dome arrangement may be used to expand and align an elastic ring onto a transfer collar, or directly onto the outside diameter of a vacuum chamber.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1995Date of Patent: July 1, 1997Assignee: Osbon Medical Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Jeffrey W. Patent number: 5421808Abstract: A self-contained, battery-operated, external vacuum device includes an electric motor with an eccentric output shaft coupled with a reciprocating diaphragm pump in a common housing with the electric motor and batteries. A housing vacuum port is removably mounted inline on a reversible coupler, which in turn is received in an open end of a vacuum chamber for receiving a user's flaccid penis for vacuum engorgement therapy. The reversible coupler includes a pair of concentric annular extensions for establishing a vacuum seal with the housing vacuum port. A reverse side of the coupler includes an extended coupling nipple for alternate vacuum seal attachment with tubing connected to a manual pump. The vacuum chamber is tapered towards the penis introducing end to facilitate the full engorgement of the glans penis. A relative vacuum indicator on the housing permits the user to monitor the degree of negative pressure applied to the penis, which may then be adjusted with a flow control knob mounted on the housing.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1993Date of Patent: June 6, 1995Assignee: Osbon Medical Systems, Ltd.Inventors: James B. Patent number: 5306227Abstract: The construction of an integral cincture band of elastic material may include a pair of semi-ellipsoidal handles and an enlarged region to be aligned with the urethra of the user's male sex organ so as to relatively reduce the urethral constriction for improved seminal fluid discharge. Radially inwardly projecting regions of predetermined radius of curvature which is relatively large to the overall ring may be provided in predetermined circumferential locations on each lateral side of the dorsal centerline. By such arrangement, effective pressure is applied to the subcutaneous lateral veins and generally to the dorsal venous process of the penis without direct application of constrictive force to the center of the penis dorsal area, thereby minimizing user pressure discomfort or loss of sensation.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1992Date of Patent: April 26, 1994Assignee: Osbon Medical Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Robert E. Patent number: 5234402Abstract: Apparatus and method for augmenting male potency cinctures a vacuum induced engorged condition of a male sex organ while also protecting abdominal and scrotal tissue during application of vacuum force to the user. An elastic cincture band has an annular tissue shield secured thereto and preferably reinforced by integrally formed handles. The cincture band and handles are small enough to fit in the open receiving end of a vacuum erection chamber while the tissue shield is large and rigid enough to fit across the vacuum erection chamber open receiving end. The shield is received against the abdomen of a subject while the cincture band is received about the root of the subject's male sex organ and inside the vacuum erection chamber open end. In such position, the tissue shield is interposed between the user's abdomen and the vacuum erection chamber for protecting against abdominal or scrotal tissue (and the anatomy within the scrotum) being drawn into the vacuum chamber during therapy.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1992Date of Patent: August 10, 1993Assignee: Osbon Medical Systems, Ltd.Inventor: James B. Patent number: 5083556Abstract: A cone-shaped expansion member has an axially facing curved lip for alternative engagement with the entrance end of a penile vacuum chamber or an annular transfer collar. A plurality of interference engagement struts extend in an axial direction from the base of the cone member, for removable interference engagement of the cone with a vacuum chamber or transfer collar. The transfer collar is adapted to be slipped over the user's male sex organ with an enlarged cincture band received thereabout, so that such cincture band may be applied to the base of the user's male sex organ for securing an engorged condition thereof. The transfer collar permits subsequent use of a preexpanded resilient cincture band. When the cone is directly applied to the entrance end of a vacuum chamber, a resilient cincture band may be enlarged by application of same against the cone and directly received about the outside diameter of such vacuum chamber for subsequent application to the base of the user's male sex organ.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1990Date of Patent: January 28, 1992Assignee: Osbon Medical Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Julian W.
