Abstract: A method for treating a patient includes providing a delivery device capable of generating a magnetic field, placing the device above or below the skin, and directing the agent into the patient's skin via the device. The therapeutic agent is directed to a treatment site through the skin. Systems for directing agents are also included herein.
Abstract: A composition having nanoparticles having lipids; a polysaccharide coating, an active agent and iron oxide. The active agent can be ciprofloxacin or fluocinolone. A method of treatment of ear disease or ear infection including the administration of a pharmaceutical formulation comprising nanoparticles and magnetically pushing or pulling the nanoparticles to a treatment site.

Abstract: A device and method for directing an agent that is magnetic or magnetizable having a magnetic configuration in which a first magnet has a first magnetization that is opposite to a second magnetization of the second magnet. The first magnet and the second magnet define a minimal convex set and the push node is outside the convex set. The first magnetic field and the second magnetic create a combined field and a pushing force.
