    Abstract: A plug connector has a male plug part, connected to an electric connecting cable and having contact elements, and a female plug part with matching counter contact elements providing electric contact in a contact position established when the male plug part is inserted into the female plug part. The female plug part has a sleeve-shaped housing having an inner circumferential surface with a locking edge. The male plug part has a locking sleeve and an outer sleeve axially slipped onto the locking sleeve. The outer sleeve has locking tabs engaging the locking edge in the contact position. The locking sleeve has several tongue-shaped thickened portions distributed circumferentially that have radially outwardly positioned cone-shaped locking surfaces. The locking tabs are spaced circumferentially from one another by a spacing that allows the thickened portions to pass between the locking tabs when the outer sleeve is slipped onto the locking sleeve.

    Abstract: A modular connector system includes at least one connector frame composed of a plurality of frame members which can be connected to each other, preferably by means of screws. A plurality of insulating members are secured in the connector frame. Each insulating member has two outer contact surfaces which extend approximately parallel to each other. A plurality of insulating members are arranged next to each other in a row with the outer contact surfaces resting against each other. Each insulating member also has at least two outer holding surfaces which extend transversely of the contact surfaces and are provided with holding projections. The distances between the holding surfaces of all insulating members are equal. The outer holding surfaces are engaged by two of the frame members of the connector frame which extend parallel to each other, such that a movement of the insulating members transversely of the plane of the connector frame is excluded.

    Abstract: The inventive contact socket serves to connect flat contact tongues as are used in plug-type connection devices for testing purposes, in particular in the manufacture of automobiles. The contact socket (1), which permits frequent plug-in cycles with small insertion forces being required, comprises a contact spring support with two bearing walls (2, 3) which are essentially parallel to one another. Said bearing walls (2, 3) are furnished on the inner side, preferably on both inner sides, with a respective row of contact springs (4) being curved such that a gap (5) opening elastically, with contact being established, when a flat contact tongue is inserted, is formed by the regions that are curved toward one another. The ends (6, 7) of each contact spring (4) are bent back toward one another on the outer side of the associated bearing wall (2, 3). The two bearing walls (2, 3) are interconnected via a transverse wall (12) determining their mutual spacing.

    Abstract: The method relates to manufacturing contact spring sockets with a plurality of radially inward bowed contact springs clamped at one end in an approximately cylindrical socket body, formed by a thin-walled deformable sleeve. After introduction of the straight contact springs into the socket body from one socket end, they are made fast by deformation of the socket material and their free ends are brought into supporting abutment on an annulus. This is associated with a mandrel for assisting assembly, which passes through it and which is during manufacture introduced co-axially into the socket body and finally withdrawn from it. Subsequently the mandrel together with the annulus is introduced into the socket body. The contact springs are then, by applying axial pressure on their ends, converted into a shape bowed into the interior of the socket until they abut the mandrel.

The conductor terminals are longitudinally located such that each conductor of the flat cable will be pressed between a respective pair of contact fingers so as to pierce or displace the insulation surrounding the conductor and contact same.

    Abstract: A method relates to manufacturing contact spring sockets with a plurality of contact springs, clamped at one end in an approximately cylindrical thin-walled socket body and bowed radially inward. The straight contact springs are introduced in the socket body into the annular space between a mandrel and the socket wall and subsequently when in an aligned state relative to each other are pressed against an annular head at the front end of the line connector which partly projects into the socket body and are made fast in this position at one end. Deformation of the socket body for elastically bowing the contact springs can be omitted according to the invention, if after introduction of the contact springs into the annular space of the socket body an insert ring (10) is introduced into the latter fitting adjacent the socket innner wall, whose internal diameter is smaller than the external diameter of the annulus plus twice the diameter of the contact springs.
