Patents Assigned to Over-Lowe Company
  • Patent number: 4594824
Abstract: A telescoping mast assembly for floodlighting equipment or other apparatus is arranged to be raised by admitting pressurized fluid to the interior of the assembly and lowered by releasing the fluid. The assembly is constructed of light metal, such as aluminum alloy, and includes a plurality of telescoping hollow members, or tubes, each inner member having a pair of substantially spaced wear rings near its lower end for maintaining the spaced positions of the members and a fitting at its outer end carrying an internally mounted wear ring for maintaining the spacing at the outer end. The telescoping members do not engage one another but are spaced by the wear rings. The fitting is readily detachable and facilitates the use of straight lengths of standard aluminum tube stock for the mast sections. The fittings include keys slidably engaging longitudinal slots in the members for preventing rotation of the members with respect to one another. Seals are provided for preventing leakage of fluid between the members.

  • Patent number: 4482125
Abstract: A lamp supporting device is provided for use in preventing shock damage as the device is moved. The device is combined with a mobile unit to produce a portable lighting unit having lamps mounted to the lamp supporting device. The lamp supporting device includes an elongated, horizontally extending support member and a frame. The support member is positioned through the center of the frame so that the frame is spaced from the support member and surrounds the midportion of the support member. Eight springs interconnect the frame and the support member. The lamps are mounted on the support member and spaced from the frame. The top end of a pole is connected to the frame. The frame extends upwardly from the pole top end. The bottom end of the pole is joined to the mobile unit. The springs act to absorb any shocks transmitted to the shock absorbing device as the portable lighting unit is moved.

  • Patent number: 4087785
Abstract: A portable electric sign display unit comprises a wheeled trailer having a main frame on which is mounted a motor-generator unit and a structure for holding a warning sign or the like in an elevated position. The sign carrying structure is collapsible into a position in which a central portion of the sign panel forms a roof over the motor-generator unit and two hinged side panels form the sides of the cover for the unit. The sign is erected by operation of a winch which first rotates the sign panel toward its vertical position and then raises the structure a further distance to the fully elevated position. The side panels are locked into position in the same plane as the central portion and electric lights forming the display are mounted on all three portions.
