Patents Assigned to Oy Santasalo-Sohlberg AB
  • Patent number: 5008079
Abstract: Method and apparatus for sterilizing or disinfecting objects, especially thermosensitive objects, in a closed chamber such as an autoclave. The use of such sterilizing or disinfecting takes place particularly in health institutions such as hospitals, outpatient departments, etc., as well as in the pharmaceutical industry. The sterilization or disinfection is carried in a strong oxidizing agent, which can be an organic peracid, advantageously peracetic acid in gaseous form. Sterilization or disinfection is carried out in a closed chamber, under a vacuum or at atmospheric pressure. Utilizing a vacuum increases concentration of the active agent in the chamber, so that the requisite sterilizing time is shortened. According to the procedure, the sterilization or disinfection is carried out at, e.g. 40.degree. to 50.degree. C. which also increases the concentration of the active agent, so that a short action time is achieved involving minimal thermal stress on the objects which are being sterilized or disinfected.

  • Patent number: 4946559
Abstract: A method and device for removing, from liquid such as water, dissolved volatile substances and gases when water is being distilled or evaporated. Feed water of a distilling apparatus or evaporator is heated to a sufficiently high temperature, whereby part of the feed water changes into vapor, and is then conducted to a purifying device. The feed water is discharged in the purifying device in the form of a thin film. The gaseous substances present in the feed water or liquid are separated by a separator device provided in the purifying device, and then conducted away through a connector provided on the purifying device.

  • Patent number: 4942847
Abstract: A procedure and apparatus for generating steam for an autoclave or an equivalent device, so that the load of the autoclave or device can be equalized. Thermal energy is stored in water under pressure which is converted when needed into steam which, in turn, is accumulated and later purified. The present invention also concerns the use of the procedure and apparatus to equalize load in the autoclave or device.

  • Patent number: 4767502
Abstract: A steam generator, especially a pure steam generator, having a feed line for conducting feed water to the same, an electrode system for heating the feed water, a steam outlet for removing generated steam, and a separating space in a lower part of the generator 10, along with a droplet separator through which the steam that has been generated is disposed to flow from the separating space to the steam outlet. Electrodes have been placed in small tubular spaces in a water space (i.e. a space receiving incoming feed water). The steam generator may be used in a multi-stage distilling apparatus by conducting the steam that has been formed to a second column or stage of the distilling apparatus, to constitute feed steam therefor.
