The plastic spring portion (46) is configured to provide the desired amount of resiliency or cushion provided by the pad responsive to a compressive force. In one example, the plastic spring portion is designed to prevent any lateral deformation of the pad when a compressive force is applied.

    Abstract: A container for packaging items such as semiconductor wafers has a restraining portion with a changeable dimension at an open end that facilitates using conventional loading techniques while also more securely containing the items to avoid undesirable movement of the items in the container. In one example embodiment, the restraining portion includes a sidewall portion that has a first, nominal inside dimension at one end. A second end of the sidewall portion has a second, greater inside dimension at an open end. Another member of the container cooperates with the sidewall portion to change the inside dimension at the open end from the second, greater dimension to the first, nominal dimension. The nominal dimension is selected to correspond to an exterior dimension of the items to be contained within the package so that the container maintains the items in a secure alignment that eliminates lateral movement of the items once the container is secured.

Each pocket of the carrier tape includes at least one component restraining member that resists lateral movement of a component within the pocket. The component restraining member includes a first portion having a first height or spacing from a bottom surface in the pocket. A second portion of the restraining member has a second, taller height or spacing from the bottom surface. The first, lower portion reinforces the component restraining member and strengthens it to avoid lateral deformation during shipment or handling of the carrier tape when an electrical component is placed within the pocket.

The retainer surfaces extend at a second angle relative to the base surface. The retainer surfaces cooperate with the support surfaces to maintain the integrated circuit components within the pockets in a desired alignment throughout handling. One example includes guide surfaces that facilitate inserting the components into the pockets.

    Abstract: A ceiling module perimeter seal establishes an air-tight seal between modules forming a ceiling structure. The seal includes a groove about the perimeter of modules and aligned relative to a corresponding groove of an adjoining module. Aligned grooves in adjacent ceiling modules establish an enclosure between modules and apertures fluidly couple the enclosure with gel sealant troughs of the ceiling structure. Gel sealant flowing in the troughs enters the enclosure and thereby establishes an air tight seal between adjoining ceiling modules.

The storage box is comprised of a separate box and lid, the box having a triple reinforced front panel for pulling the box outward, the lid having a specially designed lid which can fold back either 1/3, 2/3 or be completely removed. The lid is also removably attached to the storage box and is specially designed so the user may lock the lid into the 2/3 open position so that the user can view and manipulate the contents of the box without having to hold the lid open. The boxes are specially dimensioned so that they fully utilize the storage space available underneath a standard size bed.
