  • Patent number: 9939280
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for dynamic travel coordination is provided. A common destination is designated for a group of travelers for arrival at a common time. A mode of travel and a set of travel criteria are designated for each traveler. The travel criteria are determined for at least one of the travelers by receiving travel criteria for the at least one traveler from another traveler and receiving from the at least one traveler modifications to the received travel criteria. An initial route to the common destination at the common arrival time is created for each of the travelers based on the travel mode and travel criteria for that traveler. The initial route of one or more of the travelers is revised based on at least one of that traveler's designated travel criteria, a progress of one or more of the travelers, and travel conditions of the initial route.

  • Patent number: 9070289
Abstract: A method and system for measurement of ground based vehicle speed includes a movable platform that includes an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) located in proximity to a roadway, the UAV operates under control and navigation of a UAV control unit, and the UAV also carries camera and monitoring equipment, the camera and monitoring equipment including an onboard computing system, and a camera with a wide angle lens and a camera with a telephoto lens, the cameras being mounted on a pan/tilt device. An algorithm operated by the on-board computing system is used to detect and track vehicles moving on a roadway. The algorithm is configured to detect and track the vehicles despite motion created by movement of the UAV. The cameras mounted on the pan/tilt device are moved under the direction of the computer vision algorithm to maintain a target vehicle of the detected moving vehicles in view, and the speed of the target vehicle is measured.

  • Patent number: 8965563
Abstract: A high throughput parcel unloading system includes a robotic arm arrangement, including a cluster of robotic arms having grouping mechanisms. A conveyor system is also provided onto which parcels are placed by the robotic arm system. An image recognition system determines the position and arrangement of parcels within a container, and a control system is configured to receive image information from the image recognition system and control operation of the robotic arm system and conveyor system.

  • Publication number: 20090090932
Abstract: A structure and method for improving UV LED efficiency is described. The structure utilizes a tunnel junction to separate a P-doped layer of the LED from a n-doped contact layer. The n-doped contact layer allows the use of a highly reflective, low work function metal, such as aluminum, for the p-side contact. The reflectivity at the contact can be further improved by including a phase matching layer in some areas between the contact metal (The metal above the phase matching layer does not necessarily need to have a low work function because it does need to form an ohmic contact with the n-contact layer) and the n-doped contact layer.
