Abstract: A novel composition is disclosed to provide stable kojic acid in a cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable medium using a synergistic combination of a sulphur dioxide releasing agent such as sodium metabisulphite and one or more catalases, catalase mimetics, superoxide dismutases, and superoxide dismutase mimetics.
Abstract: The present invention relates to improved topical administration of one or more growth factors for non-surgical, cosmetic use. In particular, a combination of one or more growth factors with a microneedle roller. Specifically, the invention resides in a kit for cosmetic use comprising: one or more growth factors, growth factor mimetics, and/or growth factor receptor agonists formulated for topical application; and means to perform wounding of skin, such as a microneedle array, wherein the wounding is targeted to at least the epidermis and/or dermis of the skin to release endogenous thrombin into dermal and/or epidermal tissue.
Abstract: A method of treating hair comprising applying a hair building solid agent for use on or with one or more of hair, skin and hair building solids for altering and/or maintaining the electrostatic charge of the hair and/or skin such that it has a substantially negative polarity. The method further comprises applying hair building solids to hair before and/or during and/or after applying the hair building solid agent. The hair building solid agent is applied as a spray on to the hair and/or skin and/or hair building solid.
Abstract: A hair building solid comprising a coating, wherein the coating facilitates the formation of a dipolar electrostatic charge on the surface of the coated solid.
Abstract: The invention provides a hair building solids dispenser for storing and dispensing hair building solids comprising first electrostatic charge controller adapted for altering and/or maintaining an electrostatic charge on a surface of at least some of said solids contained within, and/or as dispensed from, said dispenser, wherein at least a substantial portion of the exterior surface of the dispenser comprises substantially electrically non-conductive material, the first electrostatic charge controller being an electrically conductive material for providing an electrical connection between the inside and outside of the dispenser.
Abstract: The invention provides a microneedle roller comprising a rotatable drum, the drum including a plurality of radially projecting microneedles, wherein the microneedles are provided in substantially linear arrays, each array being carried by a support, and each array being arranged in a substantially axial direction relative to the drum.
