Abstract: Golf clubs having weighting systems with movable weights are disclosed. In one embodiment, the golf club head includes: a main body having a periphery; and a weighting system including a movable weight, wherein the weighting system is configured to allow the weight to move between: a first position inward of the periphery of the main body; and a second position wherein at least a portion of the weight is located outward of the periphery of the main body. In other cases, the movable weight need not be movable to a position that is outward of the periphery of the main body.

Abstract: Golf clubs having weighting systems with movable weights are disclosed. In another embodiment, the golf club has a club head of the “iron” type that has a configuration that provides it with improved ability to cut through the “rough” on the golf course. In another embodiment, the golf club has a club head having a club face with at least one portion thereof that has a thickness that is modified to account for a groove in the striking surface of the club face.

In one embodiment, the club head has a body having a club face, a first extension portion at the first end of the club face extending in a direction either outwardly, or rearwardly and outwardly away from the center of the club face; and a second extension portion at the second end of the club face extending in a direction either outwardly, or rearwardly and outwardly away from the center of the club face. In this embodiment, at least one of the first and second extension portions forms an angle of greater than or equal to about 40°, 45°, or some other suitable angle, and less than or equal to about 90° from an imaginary line oriented perpendicular to the club face and passing through at least one of the outermost portion of the club face at the heel or the toe of the club face.

Abstract: Golf swing training devices are disclosed. The swing training devices can be used during practice, during play, or both. In one non-limiting embodiment, the swing training device can be used by the golfer to ensure that he or she stands the correct distance from the golf ball at address. In another non-limiting embodiment, the swing training device comprises an element that is sized and configured for making contact with at least a portion of a golfer's body during a golf swing to ensure that the golfer swings his or her arms properly on the backswing, the downswing, or both.

Abstract: Improved perimeter weighted golf clubs are disclosed. The perimeter weighted golf clubs of the present invention are provided with improved structures for distributing the weight at the perimeter of the club head. In one embodiment, the club is an iron-type golf club having a club head that includes a weighted perimeter portion and at least one metal portion, such as a rib, on the back surface of the club head that extends from an upper portion of the club head toward at least a part of the weighted perimeter portion of the club head. In this embodiment, the at least one rib is oriented generally perpendicular to the upper edge portion of the club head. This embodiment of the club head also comprises at least two channel portions on the back surface of the club head that are disposed at least along the upper portion of the club head.

Abstract: Improved perimeter weighted golf clubs are disclosed. The perimeter weighted golf clubs of the present invention are provided with improved structures for distributing the weight at the perimeter of the club head. In at least one embodiment, the club head has a region of reduced thickness outboard of the center of percussion. In this or other embodiments, the club head may also have a plurality of ribs disposed on the back face of the club head. The ribs may extend generally radially relative to the back face of the club head from their inner end to their outer end. The region of reduced thickness may comprise a curvilinear channel. In embodiments where there is a region of reduced thickness, at least a portion of at least some of the ribs may span the region of reduced thickness.
