    Abstract: A grip for a golf putter having an elongate handle with a first end, a second end, an intermediate body portion, and means for connecting the handle to the putter such that the second end is contiguous therewith. The handle is provided with a thumb-receiving surface and finger-receiving surfaces adjacent the second end on opposite lateral sides thereof and normal to the thumb-receiving surface. The handle defines a pointed portion including the second end and the finger-receiving surfaces. The handle is adapted to be gripped by a golfer with the thumbs in side-by-side relation upon the thumb-receiving surface pointing towards a club head of the putter, the index fingers lie upon the finger-receiving surfaces and against the thumbs, the tips of the middle fingers touch and lie against the index fingers and a rear surface of the handle, and the ring and small fingers of the golfer's hands are intertwined.

    Abstract: A putter is disclosed and comprises a head, a shaft and a handle. The head has a rear and a front. The shaft defines a longitudinal axis, has an end operatively attached to and proximate the head and extends upwardly, rearwardly therefrom to an upper end. The handle has a second end operatively attached and contiguous to the upper end and extends longitudinally, upwardly to a first end. The handle has, on its front, a thumb-receiving surface, and, on respective sides, adjacent the second end, finger-receiving surfaces, and can be held in a grip wherein the thumbs point towards the head and lie parallel upon the thumb-receiving surface; the middle finger tips touch; in each hand, the forefinger lies against the thumb and against a respective finger-receiving surface and the middle finger lies against the forefinger and against a respective finger-receiving surface; and the ring and small fingers are intertwined.

    Abstract: A hand held article, such as a golf club, includes an elongated handle with an inner support structure mounted to the handle and a vibration absorbing material mounted around the inner support structure. The inner support structure includes a plurality of spaced rigid projections which extend into the vibration absorbing material to a location inwardly of the outer surface of the vibration absorbing material. In one embodiment the inner support structure is integral with the shaft of the handle. In another embodiment a sleeve is heat shrunk onto the shaft and the inner support structure and vibration absorbing material are mounted over the sleeve.
