  • Publication number: 20160286889
Abstract: Protective glasses include a curved lens panel for protecting the eyes. Two side pieces have an inner end articulated on a helmet and an outer end articulated on the lens panel. The glasses are pivotable from a protective position to a stowed position. Each side piece includes a glasses arm and a glasses-carrying arm. The glasses arms are curved in the direction of the lens panel and adjoin the lens panel tangentially. The glasses arms have axes of articulation that are not aligned with one another. In the stowed position, the protective glasses are in a helmet and can be moved into, and out of, the stowed position using one hand, without length of the side pieces or tilt of the lens panel in relation to the side pieces being changed. One-handed actuation of the glasses is very advantageous in forestry work, in the industrial sector or for climbing purposes.

  • Patent number: 9179728
Abstract: A protective helmet has a helmet shell and with an interior fitting subassembly having at least one supporting cage, a head band and a neck band. Three supporting arms can serve to fasten the subassembly to the helmet shell with a spacing. A clearance can thus be provided between the interior fitting subassembly and the helmet shell for receiving ear protection capsules and supporting brackets of an ear protection and of other helmet accessories. When not in use, the ear protection can be pivoted under the helmet shell. The protective helmet therefore does not provide any engagement possibilities for obstacles such as branches and the like. The supporting arms can partially transmit a force acting on the helmet from above back into the helmet shell in order to elastically deform the latter. The helmet therefore has an improved shock absorption capability.

  • Publication number: 20150272259
Abstract: A protective screen to protect the face and, above all, the eyes of a person against flying particles and sharp objects has a mesh with a mesh structure which is formed from a plurality of adjacent rows of hexagonal openings, which rows are bounded by mesh webs common to the openings. The openings in the mesh are each osubstantially the same area. The mesh is enclosed by an edge with no mesh structure which has a width which is at least equal to the height of a row of openings in the mesh structure. The mesh webs of at least two rows of openings adjacent to the edge can be made thicker than the mesh webs for the other openings, wherein, however, all the openings in the mesh are nevertheless substantially identical in area. The mesh is produced by etching spring steel sheet. A visor for a safety helmet, especially a forestry worker's helmet is produced from the protective screen by injection moulding a supporting frame around its edge.

  • Patent number: 9113671
Abstract: A protective helmet composed of a helmet shell in which interior fittings are fixed having an assembly contacting the user's head having a supporting cage, a head band and a neck strap. The interior fitting subassembly having three support arms protruding laterally downwards from the supporting cage in the temple areas or backwards and downwards in the area of the back of the head and formed as spacers as a way to affix to the helmet shell. The interior fitting subassembly is continuously held in a distance from the helmet shell along its entire outer circumference. A clearance which is therefore present around the interior fitting subassembly on all sides renders a relative dislocation of the helmet shell relative to the interior fitting subassembly possible. The free ends of the support arms are releasably attached to the helmet shell, respectively.

  • Patent number: 8806667
Abstract: A face protection to be fastened to a protective helmet, particularly for forestry workers, is described. A visor has two retaining arms and two bearing devices which can be fastened on the inside of a helmet shell for the retaining arms for pivoting the visor between an operating position in which the visor is swung downwards and protects the face, and a parking position in which the visor is swung upwards. Each retaining arm extends towards the free end thereof which can be connected to the bearing device from the visor substantially parallel to and at such a distance from the visor that a slot is formed between the retaining arm and the visor through which slot the helmet shell extends in the parking position, and that, in the parking position, the visor is arranged close-fitting on the outer surface of the helmet shell.
