  • Publication number: 20020197115
Abstract: The present invention provides heave compensation through a riser tensioner for a marine riser (8) supported from a sea vessel (100) supporting a cylinder barrel (11) with a mainly vertically arranged cylinder axis (110). The cylinder is provided with a piston (12) with an outer diameter corresponding to the cylinder barrel (11) and arranged coaxially inside the cylinder barrel (11). The cylinder barrel (11) has a larger diameter than the riser (8). The cylinder barrel (11) has an upper end (5) communicating with the atmosphere through a vent channel (6c) from a volume (6a) above the piston (12), the vent channel (6c) and the volume (6a) arranged for being air-filled, excerting an atmospheric pressure downwards on the piston (12).

  • Patent number: 6485343
Abstract: A loading device for marine transfer of fluids, via a flexible loading hose, from a petroleum production platform to an ordinary tanker vessel has a main hull which includes a submerged hull and a structure resting on the submerged hull an rising above the waterline. A loading hose is arranged in a crane boom and is connected upstream to the flexible hose and arranged for transferring fluid to the tanker vessel. The loading device further includes fixed contact surfaces having upwards directed surfaces on the submerged hull. The submerged hull is arranged for being ballasted and deballa ted for docking towards the bottom of the tanker vessel's hull, using direct contact friction. A power device is arranged for moving the loading device into and out of a catching position with the tanker vessel, and is arranged for controlling the position of the tanker vessel during the operation of fluid transfer.

  • Patent number: 6375391
Abstract: A system for use in petroleum production at sea includes a guide frame for one or more riser pipes, on a semisubmersible production vessel. One or more main buoyancy member are arranged separately on at least one riser to carry the main part of the riser's weight. Each riser separately carries a Christmas tree on its top, near a main deck of the vessel. The guide frame comprises vertical main elements extending vertically downwards from the deck, through the splash zone and through the upper, more wave- and current-influenced zone of the sea. The guide frame also includes horizontal guide plates comprising vertically open cells formed of a horizontally arranged framework of beams. Lateral stabilization devices guide the risers' and the main buoyancy members' vertical movement relative to the vessel and restrict horizontal movement of the risers with respect to the guide frame. The guide plates are arranged in at least two levels on the guide frame.

  • Patent number: 6199500
Abstract: To permit use of a ship as production ship, among other things in conjunction with a so-called STL-buoy (30) and in test production without a buoy (30), and in which the ship (10) is formed with a bottom recess (12) for the reception of the buoy (30) in a mutually pivotal manner, there has been formed, immediately above said bottom recess (12), a vertically oriented cavity (14) in the ship's hull. In this cavity (14) is pivotally supported a sleeve-shaped turret (16) which is configured with at least one through bore, channel or other passage for passing pipelines (24, 24′), pipeline portions (38, 38′), or the like, which may be connected at the one end via a swivel device (22) to one or more pipes or the like (26) fixed in the vessel. The sleeve-shaped turret (16) works alone during test production, but is connected to the buoy (30) so that together they form a turret (16, 30) in regular production.
