Patents Assigned to Pietzsch AG
  • Patent number: 5673039
Abstract: An arrangement for monitoring vehicular traffic and providing information and warnings to drivers of traffic disruptions, driver error, dangerous road conditions, and severe weather. Road and traffic conditions are detected with roadside traffic sensing equipment, and the conditions are displayed over luminescent elements with signal lamps distributed at intervals along the road and combined into chains of lamps. The luminescent elements are illuminated simultaneously or in sequence for providing continuous traffic information. A processor network and a signal network are combined through a communication network to regulate the luminescent elements by processing, if necessary, under real time controlled conditions.

  • Patent number: 5571961
Abstract: A wheel-load sensor cast into a mass of material for positioning in a depression in a pavement or the like. The sensor includes a piezo-electric pickup. The pickup encloses an inner electrode and is enclosed in at least one outer electrode. The inner electrode is a solid conductor and the outer electrode a hollow conductor. The pickup can be positioned in the pavement. Some sections (16) of the wall of the piezo-electric pickup (11) more or less parallel the surface of the road. These sections are accommodated subject to a prescribed pressure between the adjacent sections of the wall of the hollow conductor (13') that constitutes the outer electrode and the other sections (16') of the wall of the piezo-electric pickup in the hollow conductor and away from the rest of the walls.

  • Patent number: 5020236
Abstract: An arrangement for measuring the distance between the axles or wheels of a vehicle. A roadway with at least one sensing sill. A sensing section along the roadway with one end a maximum length from the sill corresponding to the smallest spacing between axles to be measured and another end a minimum length from the sill corresponding to the largest spacing between axles to be measured. A first wheel on a first axle of the vehicle being located at the sensing sill and a second wheel on a second axle on the vehicle being located on the sensing section when measuring the distance between the two axles by using the distance measured between the second wheel and the sensing sill.
