Patent number: 8162785Abstract: A continuously variable conical pulley transmission having pairs of conical pulleys which are rotationally fixedly arranged on drive input and drive output shafts and of which in each case one is fixed to the shaft and one is axially movable, and between which a traction mechanism belt for power transmission circulates. In order that it is not necessary to provide otherwise unutilized regions of the conical pulley surfaces to allow for corresponding wear, it is proposed that a stop for limiting the transmission ratio, which stop acts substantially in the radial direction on the traction mechanism belt, be provided in at least one conical pulley pair. It is intended in particular that the peripheral surface of the drive input shaft serves as a stop. It is also proposed that a chain as a traction mechanism belt be correspondingly matched to a device of said type by virtue of the contour of the links of said chain being matched to the contour of the drive input shaft.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2008Date of Patent: April 24, 2012Assignee: PIV Drives GmbHInventor: Peter Wagner

Patent number: 7955202Abstract: The invention concerns a continuously variable cone disc transmission with sets of discs mounted on drive and driven shafts. The sets of discs are each hydraulically adjustable axially in their distance from each other whereby the traction train circulating between them is able to adjust to different running circles and thereby enabling a continuously variable transmission. The pressure fluid needed for the hydraulic actuation is supplied to the pressure cylinders by a pump through a control valve. This control valve is actuated hydraulically by a pressure supply that is need-adjusted by a proportional-pressure reduction valve. In the event of a functional failure and consequent loss of the regulating pressure, the control valve is automatically arrested in position, so that the control valve is prevented from giving a command for the sudden change of the transmission ratio into an extreme position.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2007Date of Patent: June 7, 2011Assignee: PIV Drives GmbHInventor: Peter Wagner

Patent number: 7134356Abstract: The invention relates to a gear for conveyors which has a drive shaft to which a drive motor is to be fastened as well as an output shaft with which the gear is connected to the conveyor. However, at least one gear step is provided within the gear. Moreover, the gear is provided with a freewheel locking in one direction of rotation. A second gear step is provided in this case between the freewheel and the elements transmitting torque between drive and output shaft during normal operation, so that the freewheel should be operated at a higher speed and must only provide a low holding moment in the event of a stoppage.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2005Date of Patent: November 14, 2006Assignee: PIV Drives GmbHInventors: Gert Schönnenbeck, Peter Faust, Marcel Offermann, Peter Janssen

Patent number: 7090601Abstract: The invention involves an agricultural machine with a drive train to be coupled onto the power take-off shaft of a tractor, with a transmission integrated into the drive train. In these types of agricultural machines it is frequently necessary, after starting at a high torque, to select a lower transmission ratio, so that the agricultural machine can be driven at an optimal speed by an engine to which sufficient power is then still available for the propulsion for the tractor. In order to make this possible, it is proposed, in an agricultural machine of this type, to construct the transmission as a continuously variable conical-disk belt or chain transmission which is preferably fully hydraulic, is coupled with a hydraulic clutch, and has idle-shifting in the starting transmission ratio.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2003Date of Patent: August 15, 2006Assignee: PIV Drives GmbHInventor: Gert Schönnenbeck

Publication number: 20050014581Abstract: The invention relates to an infinite adjustable cone pulley drive with a torque sensor. In order to be able to produce these cone pulley drives in a more cost-effective and functional manner, according to the invention, roll bodies running on pressure curves and provided in the torque sensor for an axial force generation and axial adjustment are proposed.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2004Publication date: January 20, 2005Applicant: PIV Drives GmbHInventor: Gert Schonnenbeck
