Abstract: A mold for flat treads of tire casings which includes first and second molding parts respectively defining the outer surface and the inner surface of a tread, at least one of the molding parts being movable between two positions corresponding to opening and closing of the mold and in which one of the molding parts bears at least one elastically deformable element for molding a longitudinal edge of the tread surface and forming and maintaining a tight connection with the two molding parts between a closed position and a slightly-open position of the mold.
Abstract: A process and apparatus for the non-destructive checking of the condition of a metal reinforcement element of magnetic material in a tire (11) whereinthe metallic reinforcement element is subjected to a magnetic field in order to magnetize it;relative movement is produced between the metallic reinforcement element of the tire (11) and at least one conductor (31) of a detecting device (30) placed opposite the metallic reinforcement element in such a manner than any variation in magnetization of the element produces an electromotive force in the conductor (31);the electromotive force is detected in order to obtain information as to the condition of said magnetized metallic reinforcement element.
Abstract: A process for recapping tires with a pre-molded, pre-vulcanized tread (2) uses a device for measurement of the travelling length of the tread (2). This device includes a stop (5) which moves on a guide track (6) connected to an endless notched belt (7) held in place by two pulleys (8) and (9), a motor (10), and an optical coder (11). During the entire installation phase of the tread (2) on the casing (21), the stop (5) generates a slight force on the free end of the tread placed on a preparation table (3) incorporating rollers (4).
