Abstract: The invention concerns a sleeve with a multiple layer structure for printing presses with king rolls configured as pneumatic cylinders; in particular a sleeve for the flexographic printing process, with an inner tube of reversibly expandable plastic material, whose internal diameter is smaller than the king roll diameter, with an elastic compressible intermediate layer that accommodates the radial expansion of the inner tube during installation, and with an outer layer. The invention concerns also a manufacture procedure for sleeves of this type. The sleeve in accordance with the invention is characterised by a support structure in the sleeve construction between inner tube and outer layer, which completely penetrates the compressible intermediate layer in at least one location in the radial direction and stabilises the outer layer relative to the inner tube in the circumferential direction and/or the radial direction.

Abstract: With the method according to the invention for producing a printing plate, in particular for flexoprinting, a layer of a curable elastomer is applied to a carrier (15) with a cylindrical surface area (26), subsequently the elastomer layer is cured to an essentially cylindrical endless printing form blank and possibly ground to a cylindrical peripheral form or processed otherwise, and afterwards the printing form blank (33) is separated along a line which is essentially parallel to the axial direction of the carrier and the printing plate produced in such a manner.

Abstract: A sleeve (10) for flexographic printing includes a sleeve body (2) made of an at least partially non-electroconductive material, which within its inside (4) is mountable on an electroconductive king roll on the outer wall of the roll, of a printing press, the king roll being designed as an air cylinder, and exhibiting at least one contact zone with the king roll. The sleeve exhibits an electroconductive surface (6), which is connected to the contact zone via at least one electroconductive element (20) provided in the sleeve body (2) for diverting electrostatic charges into the outer wall of the roll of the king roll. The sleeve is therefore given an electroconductive structure, through which the unavoidable electrostatic charges in printing presses with a plurality of printing couples are diverted via the king roll before it reaches a scale that would suffice for a discharge, ignition, or deflagration of the solvents used in the printing.
