Patents Assigned to Poutrait-Morin
  • Patent number: 4643721
Abstract: An ampule for an automatic hypodermic syringe comprises at least two axially aligned and hermetically separated compartments containing respective medicated substances. A nipple member is disposed at one end of the ampule. A needle holder is slidably mounted in said nipple member and supports a hollow needle. An intermediate partition normally hermetically separates the two compartments. The intermediate partition has a valve member adapted to open a path of flow through the intermediate partition to bring the second of the compartments into communication with the needle hollow after a first of the compartments is substantially emptied. Preferably, there are two intermediate partitions and three compartments.

  • Patent number: 4616859
Abstract: A quick-coupling connector for an air valve comprising, in one-piece molded plastic construction, a body for receiving the air valve, an operating member rockably mounted on the body about a pivot axis, a strap which defines a preloaded leaf spring joining the operating member to the body and defining a preloaded leaf spring for urging a clamping member carried by the operating member toward a clamping position.

  • Patent number: 4611828
Abstract: End members for flexible connectors for bicycle pumps are provided, a first end member is fixed to one end of a flexible tube and to be connected to a valve of a tire and the second end member is to be connected to the other end of the flexible tube for connection to a pump. The first end member is made of one piece of molded construction and, at one side of a middle zone has an anchoring stub which carries a cap at its free and by means of at least two frangible bridges. At the other side of the middle zone the first end member has means for linking the connector with the valve of a tire. The middle portion also has resiliently deformable portions for holding the connector in a bore in the handle of the pump. For assembling the first end member with the tube, the cap is fitted over an end portion of the tube and, the bridges are severed and the anchoring stub is engaged inside the flexible tube.

  • Patent number: 4569275
Abstract: A portable pump for inflating tires, particularly bicycle tires. The portable pump comprises a pump body in which there is movably disposed a piston mounted to the end of a rod which is operable in a reciprocating motion. The reciprocating motion is effected by movement of a handle attached to the rod and a spring which is interposed between the pump body and the handle. The piston rod, at its terminal portion remote from the piston, has an extension capable of sliding movement within the handle and which also carries at least one locking structure. The locking structure permits either immobilizing the extension within handle with the spring being neutralized, or sliding movement of the extension in the handle against the force of the spring.

  • Patent number: 4327602
Abstract: An emergency release device for the strap of a toe clip for a bicycle pedal. The release device comprises a release member pivotally mounted on free end of the toe clip. One end of the strap is attached to the release member and the other passes through an aperture in a buckle associated with the release member. In one embodiment the buckle consists of a buckle lever, and a passageway is provided through the release member itself. In another embodiment the release member is releasable attached to the buckle. The release member includes a latching member and in response to the pivoting of the rider's foot in the pedal the force exerted on the strap displaces the latching member to its inoperative position. The release member pivots relative to the toe clip thereby permitting the rocking of the buckle lever in the first embodiment or the release of the buckle through a hooking member in the other embodiment.

  • Patent number: 4120614
Abstract: A hand bicycle pump of generally cylindrical configuration essentially comprising a pump body adapted to be reciprocated on a pump rod. An air circulation chamber communicates at one end through the compression piston with the compression chamber in the pump body and at the other end via a check valve with a connector adapted to couple temporarily the pump to an inflation valve of an inflatable body, e.g. a tire. The desired inflation pressure is preselected by rotating a sleeve, accessible from outside the pump, having an index, relative graduations along a slot in the pump body. The sleeve varies the spring force exerted against one end of a piston control member, the other end of which is subjected to the pressure inside the inflatable body so that once the desired pressure is reach the control member is displaced axially to bring the compression chamber into communication with the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4033199
Abstract: A toe clip for the pedals of bicycles or other pedal vehicles. The toe clip is formed from a flat cutout metal blank which is suitably bent to form the usual toe receiving space between the toe supporting portion and a turned back portion. For fastening the toe clip to any of various types of pedals, for common road bicycles or for racers, the toe clip is provided with side panels which are bent downward at right angles to the toe supporting portion, these panels forming gusset plates for strengthening the connection of the toe clip to its pedal. Extending from one side of each gusset plate is an apertured fastening lug which may be bent inwardly or outwardly at right angles to the gusset plates or left in the plane thereof, depending on what type of pedal the toe clip is to be fitted. The rear bearing edges formed on the gusset plate bear against the longitudinal face of the pedal frame on which the toe clip is mounted.
