Abstract: A tourniquet including a belt and buckle with the buckle being formed of st and second buckle parts with a first end belt being connected to the first buckle part formed in a loop, and a second end thereof being releasably clamped between the first and second buckle parts; a pair of pivot pins of the first buckle part being received in recesses of the second buckle part for assembling these parts and maintaining the same in pivotal relationship to each other, and a cam operative upon relative sliding motion between the first and second buckle parts to automatically pivot the buckle parts to clamp the second belt in therebetween. In another embodiment the clamping effect is created by utilizing the elastic force of the belt which acts against a projecting portion of the first buckle belt to pivot the same to its clamping position.

Abstract: A wide-angle hinge assembly includes a frame hinge section and a door leaf inge section connected to one another by a linkage arrangement. The linkage arrangement includes two double-armed link members and an intermediate link. The double-armed link members are pivotable about a common pivot point, and one of the link members pivotally engages one end of the intermediate link having its other end pivotally connected to the leaf hinge section. The linkage arrangement further includes a spring mechanism that is effective to provide a closing pressure during closing and maintaining the closed position for securing the door leaf. The spring mechanism is arranged on the intermediate link and coacts with a cam component included as a part of the leaf hinge section.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a base plate for a concealed hinge which inclu a main plate portion having a longitudinal axis and a pair of projecting plate portions each having a longitudinal axis and projecting from opposite sides of the main plate portion to define a generally T-shaped configuration with aperture means of an oblong shape in one of the projecting plate portions having a major axis in transverse relationship to the main plate portion longitudinal axis, and the projecting plate portion having the latter aperture means including a plurality of teeth in generally parallel relationship to each other and to the main plate portion longitudinal axis and being in meshed relationship with opposing teeth of a washer having an opening with a screw adapted for passage through the opening and the aperture means.

Abstract: This invention relates to a novel ligature mechanism for producing tournit effects on limbs including a casing having pivotally mounted therein a clamping lever which locks upon a first end portion of a band which passes through an aperture of the casing, a medial portion of the band forming a loop adapted to encompass a limb, a second end portion of the band carrying a fitting, and spring means releasably clampingly securing the fitting to either the lever or to the casing. Releasing means formed integral with or apart from the fittng is provided for actuating the spring to release the second end portion from either the lever or the casing.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a concealed hinge for furniture doors and incls at least three hinge elements, a first element being carried by the frame, a second element being mounted at one end for sliding movement relative to the first element and being pivotally connected at an opposite end to a door, the third element being pivoted to the first element and to the second element, and latch means pivotally connected to the third element by the pivot connection between the second and third elements. The latch means is preferably spring biased toward its latched position and is preferably U-shaped as viewed in cross-section. A fourth hinge element is pivotally connected between the door and the third hinge element and the latch means latches upon the pivot between the door and fourth hinge element.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a concealed furniture hinge having a pair of ls, one of which is formed as a pair of tandem link arms articulately connected to each other and having remote ends connected to respective ones of a pair of hinge elements, another link sandwiched between the first mentioned link arms and being pivoted immediately thereto as well as having opposite ends respectively pivotally and slidably connected to the hinge elements whereby when connected to an associated frame and door the hinge is concealed in the closed position of the door while in the open position the door is not only swung through approximately 90.degree. but is also moved away from its associated frame.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a constricting device for increasing pressure in umans and animals which includes an elongated member of flexible material looped upon itself to disposed ends thereof adjacent each other after passage through a fastener housing having clamping means therein, and the housing having an opening of a size to preclude the simultaneous passage therethrough of the ends. Preferably a first of the ends is received in a socket of a size and configuration to freely pass through the opening while a second end is received in another socket having a tongue projecting in a direction toward the housing and away from the end to which it is attached to preclude the latter from being drawn through the housing upon the removal of the device from use.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a hinge for abutting door sashes and particula a furniture hinge in which a linkage is provided in the form of a pair of rods pivotally mounted between mounting parts of an associated frame and sash, each radius rod having an end within a large diameter trunnion of a thickness greater than that of the associated rods, and each trunnion engaging in a corresponding bore of the sash.
