Patents Assigned to Prazisions-Werkzeuge AG
  • Patent number: 5388716
Abstract: Double-walled container for pressure-tight dispensers, having a cup-shaped inside container and a one-piece outside container is disclosed. The neck attachment of the flask-like outside container is provided with an inverted zone by which an annular groove is formed inside the outside container and the inside container is adhesively secured within the groove. Also disclosed is a method for producing such a double-walled container which includes the steps of positioning the inside container into the cylindrical outside container, shaping the outside container at the upper portion into a flask-like shape without deforming the inside container, and securing the inside container into the groove formed by the deformation.

  • Patent number: 5138972
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a coating of solid particulate powder to the interior surface of tubular, cylindrical articles includes a conveyor for transporting the articles to and from a powder spray station whereat powder is sprayed into one open end of the articles. The conveyor includes an endless belt conveyor movable in a direction perpendicular to the spray from the nozzle and the axes of articles supported on the conveyor. The articles are supported on the conveyor by lugs in the form of rollers which support the articles in grooves defined between adjacent pairs of lugs.

  • Patent number: 5061510
Abstract: In a powder coating facility wherein powder entrained with conditioned air sprayed from a feed conduit (11) to a workpiece, such as a can body (51), and excess powder is returned by suction by means of exhausts (29, 25), a conditioning chamber (21) is arranged around the coating zone (15) in order to prevent contamination of the dispensed powder due to influences of the enviroment (U). An air flow (S) is provided, produced from openings (23) of the chamber (21), to conduct the can bodies (51) into and through the chamber (21). The air flow from the openings of the chamber prevents influences of the ambient surroundings of the chamber powder sprayed and retrieved in the powder coating facility.

  • Patent number: 5018910
Abstract: In a powder coating system wherein the powder is introduced via a feed conduit from the feed point to a mixing chamber, a pressure gradient oriented against the chamber is produced along the feed conduit by acceleration of a gas jet in the mixing chamber, and pressure recovery is obtained by retarding the powder-gas stream, in order to feed the powder-gas stream through a conveying line to a coating unit. For increasing the quantity of powder dispensed per unit time to the powder coating system, the pressure drop in the powder-gas stream along the conveying line is at least in part compensated for by raising the pressure at the feed point.

  • Patent number: 4925012
Abstract: The present invention describes a device consisting of an endless flat conveyor belt arrangement for the positionally accurate transport of containers wherein the flat conveyor belt arrangement comprises two parallel convex load-bearing surfaces (3). In the conveyance of ferromagnetic containers, such as cans (2), for example, magnets (21, 22) are utilized which pull the cans (2) onto the conveyor belts (1).

  • Patent number: 4826704
Abstract: In order to increase the efficiency of a coating process wherein a coating medium such as, for example, powders directed from a coating medium pressure line toward a workpiece to be coated, with the coating process also including an applied electrostatic field, a coating medium which does not adhere to the workpiece is drawn off by way of a suction channel. A flow of the emerging coating medium is bent toward the workpiece that is to be coated by providing a carrier surface profile area between an outlet of the coating medium and a suction channel. By this arrangement a flow velocity gradient between the workpiece to be coated and the profile area is realized with the resulting pressure gradient from the profiled area toward the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4816285
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring a quantity of particles deposited on a metal body to be coated with powder or the quantity of powder deposited per unit of time, especially on a moving body. The body is located in a space subjected to an electrostatic field and a quantity of powder deposited, possibly per unit of time, is measured by measuring a charge or current in a circuit connecting the field electrodes. An actual value deposited, indicated by a measurement, is used as a control parameter in a control circuit for adjusting an actual amount deposited to a set deposition amount which is adjustable.

  • Patent number: 4749593
Abstract: To prevent a formation of aerodynamic dead zones in a coating arrangement for powder coating, such as, for example, weld seams, a surface of a supporting member is provided with a constantly increasing radius of curvature between an outlet orifice for a spray jet and an exhaust orifice, starting with the former. A feed conduit is fashioned so that a laminar flow of the coating medium does not experience a change in an arithmetic sign of its path of curvature in the orifice zone and along a subsequent surface. For a constant acceleration of the spray jet, a constant reduction of the flow cross section is provided for the spraying medium between the outlet and the exhaust conduit.

  • Patent number: 4637339
Abstract: An electrode arrangement for a coating installation which functions with the aid of an electric field. The electrode arrangement includes a pair of electrodes for creating an electrostatic field with at least one of the electrodes being fashioned with a sharp edge or tip. The electrode is disposed in a conduit and excess pressure or a vacuum is applied to the conduit with respect to the pressure in the coating chamber of the coating installation in an area of the electrode so that the coating medium is either prevented from coming into contact with the electrode or is suctioned off through the conduit system. By virtue of the provision of the suction removal means for the excess coating medium, the conduit system can be placed in direct communication with the ambient pressure. Additionally, the electrode may be arranged in a vacuum zone of the coating chamber.
