    Abstract: The invention is a protective package for delivering a medical or dental implant to an implantation site. The protective package protects the implant from contact with any surfaces from which bacteria or other contaminants could be transferred to the implant itself. The protective package is adapted to allow the implant to be delivered to the implantation site and to allow the primary retention of the implant in a bone or other type of tissue to be carried out before completely removing the implant from the protective packaging.
