Abstract: A hydrotherapy jet system includes a fixture body, an air line connector coupled to the fixture body, and a water line connector coupled to the air line connector. The air line connector is provided with structure adapted to couple about the outside of relatively small fixture bodies and about the inside of relatively large fixture bodies. As such, the air line connector is universal for multiple sizes of fixture bodies. The water line connector is coupled to the rear of the air line connector. The air and water line connectors may be rotated relative to the element to which each is coupled to facilitate assembly and plumbing. Other plumbing components and fittings may be coupled in manner which provides a fluidtight seal and permits the components and fitting to thereafter be rotated relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 6641177
Abstract: A coupling system for coupling flexible tubing between ports includes a port element provided with a barb, and a clamp which secures the tubing over the port element. A first end of the clamp is formed as a plurality of axially extending resilient, yet stiff, fingers having a barb at a tip. The fingers are biased slightly inward toward a center of the channel to define an inner diameter which is smaller than the outer diameter of the tubing. A diameter at the second end of the clamp is larger than a diameter of the tubing to allow for easier installation of the tubing through the channel of the clamp. A diameter of a portion of the channel between the first end and the second end is substantially the same or slightly smaller than the diameter of the tubing such that the clamp snugly grips the tubing without affecting the flow through the tubing. In use, the tubing is inserted through the second end of the clamp, and the tubing is then positioned over the barb of the port element.

  • Patent number: 6094754
Abstract: A hydrotherapy jet assembly includes a resilient grommet and a jet valve body. The grommet has a lip, a body having an inner surface and an outer surface, and a raised bead running the inner surface circumference. The inner surface includes a tapered portion tapering away from the lip. The jet valve body has a water entry port, an air conduit, a lip, and an external circumferential groove for interlocking with the raised bead of the grommet, and a water fitting. According to a method of the invention, the grommet is inserted from the inside of the tub through a hole drilled in a tub wall until the lip of the grommet seats flush with the tub wall. The jet valve body is inserted from the inside of tub until the bead of the grommet interlocks with the groove of the jet valve body and the lip of the jet valve body abuts the lip of the grommet.
