  • Patent number: 10815665
Abstract: An anchor assembly for use with a tensioning strand includes an anchor body including a bore therethrough, the bore configured to receive the strand therethrough, an inner surface of the bore including a frustoconical wedge-receiving cavity, at least one frustoconical wedge including a strand-engaging inner surface and an anchor body engaging outer surface, the wedge being at least partially received in the wedge-receiving cavity, an encapsulating layer at least partially surrounding the anchor body, and a wedge retention disk mechanically coupled to the anchor body and positioned so as to prevent the wedge from fully exiting the wedge-receiving cavity. The wedge retention disk may be spaced apart from the anchor body such that the wedge can move axially with respect to the anchor body between a seated position in which the wedge engages the wedge-receiving cavity and an unseated position in which the wedge engages the wedge retention disk.

  • Patent number: 10787813
Abstract: A coupler for connecting first and second tendons may comprise a body including first and second ends, a passageway therethrough and an access port; first and second wedges each configured to receive an end of the first and second tendons, respectively, each of the wedges being positioned in the passageway and oriented so as to resist withdrawal from the coupler of a tendon received therein; and first and second pistons positioned within the passageway proximate the first and second wedges, respectively; wherein the first and second pistons define a pressure chamber therebetween; wherein the pressure chamber is in fluid communication with the access port; and wherein the first and second pistons are configured to bear on the first and second wedges, respectively, and urge the first and second wedges apart in response to pressure in the pressure chamber.

  • Patent number: 10378210
Abstract: Methods and devices for sealing and/or gripping concrete strengthening tendons. Some embodiments provide a method of forming a seal between an encapsulated anchor and a sheath of a tendon engaging the encapsulated anchor. Other embodiments provide a splice for forming a seal around a discontinuity in the sheath of a concrete tensioning tendon. Some embodiments provide a seal assembly for forming a seal between a tubular extension and a sheath of a tendon to protect an exposed portion of the tendon contained within the tubular extension. Some embodiments also provide a method of forming a fluid tight seal between tubular extension and a sheath of a tendon, while other embodiments provide a method of gripping the sheath of a tendon with a tubular extension to prevent the sheath from moving relative to the extension.

  • Patent number: RE48637
Abstract: The invention provides for a pocketed anchor for post-tensioned concrete reinforcement. The anchor includes a body having a flange portion with a front and rear surface, a button portion extending from the rear surface, and a nose portion extending from the front surface. The anchor also includes a tapered bore that extends through the nose, flange, and button portions. The bore can receive a wedge that cams against the bore to clamp down on a tendon. The front surface of the flange has at least two planar surfaces that are parallel to the bearing surface on the rear surface of the anchor. One of the planar surfaces is recessed relative to the other such that the recessed surface is closer to the load bearing surface on the rear surface of the anchor. The two planar surfaces define a pocket on the anchor, where mounting holes may be located.
