Abstract: A device for protecting the cap of a bottle having a neck, said device comprising a cap portion adapted to be placed over the neck of the bottle and a base portion, the base portion being rotatably connected to the cap portion, at least one elongate securing member being provided having a first end attached to the cap portion and a second end attached to the base portion whereby rotation of the base portion with respect to the cap portion in a tightening direction causes the elongate securing member to tighten against the neck of the bottle to resist removal of the device from the neck of the bottle, locking means being provided for selectively preventing rotation of the base portion with respect to the cap portion at least in a second direction opposite to said tightening direction. The device may be provided with an EAS tag.
