Abstract: This invention relates to a method of binding a sheet of paper. The method includes the steps of feeding an end of a sheet of paper to be bound into a partially folded elongate binding strip which defines a longitudinal axis and has two portions angularly disposed to each other, the end of the sheet of paper being fed in a feed direction that is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the binding strip into a region between the two portions and mating the end of the sheet of paper and the binding strip, with the end of the sheet of paper located in the region between the two portions. The method also relates to an apparatus for binding a sheet of paper, according to the method of the invention.

Abstract: A slide for attaching to a display item such as a calendar, a poster, document, banner, wall hanging, or workpiece, has a longitudinal channel with a first end and second end and a longitudinal bend extending from the first end to the second end, a first bend portion and a second bend portion joined by the longitudinal bend, the first and second bend portions each having respective interior confronting surfaces adapted to receive an edge of the display item therebetween and respective exterior surfaces, a pair of bulges projecting from the first bend portion, a first bulge being close to the first end and a second bulge being close to the second end; and a hanger generally centrally fast with the second bend portion. The slides are paired in sets, the bulges of a first slide being spaced a different extent from its edges to those of the second set, so that the bulges of the paired slides do not coincide if one is nested in the other. The bulges may be symmetrically or asymmetrically arranged.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a file folder includes the steps of displacing a predetermined length of a flexible material in a feed direction and forming a pair of spaced apertures in the material. The method further includes the steps of inserting a prong of a binder through each aperture, the binder having an elongate central portion with a prong extending from each end of the central portion and securing the central portion of the binder to the material. The invention also relates to an apparatus for manufacturing a file folder.
