Abstract: The disclosed subject matter is directed to an educational game designed to teach children about healthy food choices and the importance of foods from different food groups to a healthy diet. In one embodiment the game comprises a representation of a plate that is divided into different colored segments where each colored segment represents a different food group, and game pieces are designed to represent different foods. The game involves placing the game pieces onto the different colored plate segments of the correct food group and making a meal having a healthy balance of different foods. The game can be played as a group or individually. Different formats for the game include, but are not limited to, a board game, a hanging wall chart, a floor game, and a computer game.
