  • Patent number: 6029611
Abstract: An animal tethering system attachable to a collar or harness worn by the animal to restrain the animal in the cargo area of a vehicle. The system has a short control lead having a loop handle at one end and a fastener at the other. A longer extension leash has fasteners at both ends. When tethered, the control lead is secured by its fastener to one tie down. The extension leash has one end secured to the opposite vehicle tie down and is threaded through the loop of the lead and fastened at its opposite end to the animal's collar or harness. Preferably the attachment location is to a harness in the chest area of the animal. The control lead may be used alone or with the extension leash as a lead when walkling the animal.

  • Patent number: 5988413
Abstract: An improved child resistant container and closure assembly allows for ease of use by an adult, while at the same time provides the desired increased child resistance. One or more locking elements mating with recesses formed in the container serve to secure the closure assembly to the container. The closure assembly is also provided with a cup portion that is adapted for comfortably receiving an adult hand. Differential manual pressure applied to the closure assembly flexes an internal annular web, which removes the locking elements from their respective recesses. This allows an adult to easily open the container, whereas a child cannot do so. In an alternate embodiment, the closure assembly is non-removable, and is adapted to permit flow-through of the material held within the container.

  • Patent number: 5711099
Abstract: A decorative visual display device for circulating a fluid and simulated snow particles around a diorama. A snow globe is provided with a fluid propeller to circulate the fluid and particles within an outer transparent shell to provide the visual effect of snow falling on the diorama. A motor is placed within the base of the snow globe and may be actuated or deactuated to start and stop the snowfall effect.

  • Patent number: 4889322
Abstract: A bracing system is disclosed which is particularly suitable for providing line and end corner bracing for "T-post" fence construction. The bracing system comprises slidable collars which are positioned over the posts and located vertically between the lugs at a desired location. A wedging arrangement is used to secure the collar between adjacent lugs on the posts, and the collar has provisions for accepting accessories to permit a rigid cross-brace, typically also another "T-post", to be inserted therebetween for providing rigid cross-bracing between adjacent "T-posts" of the fence. Accessories also are disclosed to adapt the posts for uses other than fences.

  • Patent number: 4398405
Abstract: A lock having a key-controlled removable and installable plug including: a plug including a set of combinating tumblers and a control tumbler including a retaining end and a second end; in a first state the retaining end being extended and the second end being retracted relative to the plug and in a second state the retaining end being retracted and the second end being extended relative to the plug; means for biasing the control tumbler to one of the states, the control tumbler including means for engaging with a key to drive the control tumbler to the other state; and a shell for rotatably receiving the plug and having a peripheral groove for receiving the retaining end of the control tumbler in the first state and preventing longitudinal withdrawal of, while permitting rotation of, the plug in the shell; and a longitudinal groove for accommodating extension of the second end in the second state and enabling withdrawal and installation of the plug when the second end is aligned with the longitudinal groove.

  • Patent number: 4038582
Abstract: An internally illuminated switch plate for providing visual indications of the on-off condition of an electrical wall switch. The plate comprises a wall plate in the form of a flat slab adapted to overlie the wall fixture and constituted of material which conducts light. A small recess in the rear surface carries a neon glow lamp, and a second recess carries a resistor. The glow lamp and resistor are connected in series, and this assemblage in turn connected across the terminals of the switch. Connections to the neon lamp and resistor are made via tracks of conductive paint disposed in grooves in the rear surface of the slab. The tracks extend to two terminals of the slab, from which flexible leads are run to terminals of the switch. The arrangement is such that when the switch is off, the lamp is energized by the voltage normally appearing across the switch terminals, to thus provide a visual indication of the on-off condition of the switch.

  • Patent number: 4000405
Abstract: A combined electrical receptacle type adaptor and night light providing both multiple electrical sockets and subdued illumination, comprising a wall plate in the form of a truncated pyramid with four sloped faces and a pair of conductor prongs protruding from the rear of the wall plate and adapted to be received in openings of an existing wall outlet for establishing electrical contact with the circuits thereof. The wall plate carries a pair of two-conductor sockets, the conductors of which are connected respectively to the back prongs. The plate additionally has a pair of electric lamps respectively disposed at non-adjacent faces of the pyramid, for illuminating areas on opposite sides thereof. Also carried by the wall plate is a switch connected with the lamps, providing control of their energization. In a preferred embodiment, the switch is disposed in a third face of the pyramid and enables the lamps to be selectively energized at either half or full brilliance.

  • Patent number: 3997225
Abstract: An electrical grounding-type adaptor receptacle providing, from a standard duplex wall outlet, multiple circuits to accommodate a plurality of electrical plugs. The adaptor includes a wall plate or housing which has the configuration of a truncated pyramid and is adapted to overlie and completely conceal the outlet opening of the wall receptacle. Two pairs of parallel-connected conductive prongs protrude from the rear of the housing and are adapted to be inserted in the recess pairs respectively of the wall outlet for electrical contact with the circuits thereof. Carried by the housing are multiple three-conductor sockets for receiving grounding-type appliance plugs, the sockets being connected in parallel with one another and with the parallel-connected prongs. To provide the grounding function there is disposed within the housing an elongate conductor bar substantially in line with the sockets, the conductor bar having multiple spring fingers adapted to be engaged by the ground pins of the plugs.
