  • Patent number: 5417473
Abstract: A chair mechanism (1) for office chairs comprises a synchronous mechanism with integrated negative inclination. The aim is to achieve all sitting postures occurring during office work, and in particular the correction of injurious continuous sitting. The arrangement, the function and the connection of the pivot axes and the configuration of the seat support (4) within the chair mechanism (1) have predominant novelty value. Mechanical springs, which are less expensive than gas springs, are used as component parts. Springing during synchronous movement is effected by means of a torsion spring (9), while the negative inclination utilizes compression springs (21). The mechanism offers a number of options--locking in determined functions--for special applications. In addition to the wide movement range, the apparatus is distinguished by a compact and efficient construction.

  • Patent number: 5078055
Abstract: The work table with a carrying structure held above the floor by supporting elements (4, 5) and devices for holding table surfaces and/or add-ons in the form of fixedly or moveably arranged resting surfaces includes a base frame (1) of a pair of longitudinal bearers (2) and a pair of transverse bearers (3), which is designed as a structural unit. The supporting elements are fastened to this structural unit as individual table legs (4) or box member in the form of drawer units (5), attached detachably on the underside of the base frame (1). Some of the ends of the longitudinal and/or transverse bearers of the base frame (1) are designed as coupling or resting regions for attachments or add-ons of the work table.Due to the interchangeability of leaf frames (7, 7") which can be coupled to the base frame (1) and bracket elements, the components of the work table can be used on the modular principle.

  • Patent number: 5044508
Abstract: Goods presentation system having slide devices which are displaceable in a longitudinal direction in a C-section rail (1, 1.1) and which can be engaged on predetermined support points (10), for the mounting of support devices to accommodate goods. These slide devices are designed as control locks (3) which can be pushed into the internal space of the section from the front through the section opening and which contain locking jaws (9) which are mounted transversely displaceably in a lock housing (8). The locking jaws (9) can optionally be displaced from an extended locking position, in which they project beyond the lateral walls (8.1) of the housing and in conjunction with the support points (10) establish engagement points for the support devices, into a running position, in which the lock housing (8) is freely displaceable in the C-rail (1, 1.1).The control lock is provided with a cover plate, the front surface (11) of which is intended to receive the support devices.

  • Patent number: 5044856
Abstract: Fastening element (5) secured against rotation for a structural part (4) to be removably attached to a supporting arrangement (1), which has a screw bolt (7) and a locking nut (10) to be tightened on the front side of the structural part (4). The screw bolt (7) is situated rotatably and longitudinally movably in an adaptor sleeve (6) which has a shaft part (6.1), which engages with little play in corresponding openings of the supporting arrangement (1) and of the structural part (4). The screw bolt (7) has at its inner end a hammer head (8), the cross-sectional shape of which is adjusted to that of the shaft part (6.1) of the adaptor sleeve (6) and which can be brought from an insertion position into a locking position swivelled through approximately 90.degree. to it. The structural part to be attached to the supporting arrangement (1) is forcibly held in position by means of penetration openings of equal area which are matched to the cross-sectional shape of the shaft part (6.1) of the adaptor sleeve (6).

  • Patent number: 5026014
Abstract: Two free-standing tubular columns (1, 2) having slots (3), parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube, for locating extension arms or supporting arrangements are connected to one another according to the modular construction principle by means of a cross connection (4). The cross connection (4) of two connecting tubes (5, 6) contain, at their ends, one attachment housing (8) each, in which, on the one hand, these two connecting tubes (5, 6) are held and, on the other hand, a clamping bracket (13) having catch projections (16) is accommodated. The catch projections (16) are intended for engaging into the slots (3) of the tubular columns (1, 2). Each attachment housing (8) is provided at the front face with a surface contour complementary to the outer contour of the colunm, and a clamping screw (17) preloading the clamping bracket (13) against the attachment housing brings about an applied-pressure connection between the attachment housings (8) and the tubular columns (1, 2).

  • Patent number: 4890749
Abstract: To decoratively present matching articles of clothing (11; 21-25), a clothes stand is proposed in which column members (1, 1.1', 1.1"), of a multicolumn stand consist of tubular columns (1) connected by cross-pieces (13, 14', 14") to form column pairs (1.1). The upper ends of the tubular columns (1) are provided with end members, mechanically strengthening their end areas, in such a way that these areas and the cross pieces (13, 14', 14") form coupling areas for mounting the attachment elements (9, 15-17, 19, 20) for the articles of clothing to be presented.

  • Patent number: 4880272
Abstract: A seat (2) is mounted pivotably about a first axle (A1) on the stand (1) of the chair. The seat frame (8) is connected to a second axle (A2) which is fastened to the backrest (3) behind the backrest (3) at a horizontal distance from the latter and at a vertical distance from the first axle (A1).The backrest (3) produced from an elastically resilient material, when deflected out of its vertical position, causes the second axle (A2) to move over an arc of a circle of radius A.sub.1 -A.sub.2 ; the rear seat portion adjacent to the backrest (3) is also lowered correspondingly thereby. The backrest (3) extending over the entire height of the chair forms with its lower portion an integral component of the chair stand (1).In comparison with the known complicated and heavy backrest/seat adjustment mechanisms, a cost-effective and lightweight construction, but one which fully satisfies modern ergonomic requirements as regards sitting comfort, is proposed here.
