Patent number: 6499568Abstract: A locking device for a movement unit supported displaceably relative to and along a longitudinal axis of at least one guide rod, comprises a pair of clamping members which have each a clamping opening. Each clamping opening has an inner surface for receiving the guide rod. Each clamping member has a foot end and a head end and is pivotable about an axis to assume a first position, in which the inner surface is in frictional braking contact with the guide rod, and a second position for allowing free relative movement of the clamping members and the guide rod. The pair of clamping members has also a corresponding pair of control surfaces facing each other at their head ends. There is an actuation device that acts onto the pair of clamping members to move them from one of their positions to the other. This actuation device includes: a device for imparting movement which has a pressure exerting surface for exerting pressure in a direction towards the clamping members.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2002Date of Patent: December 31, 2002Assignee: PWB AGInventor: Ferenc Nemeth

Patent number: 6061917Abstract: A tool presetting device comprises a carrier device for rotatably holding a tool. The tool is received in a bearing bushing which defines a bearing axis and provides a rotationally symmetrical bearing surface wherein said tool is enabled to be rotated in a desired measuring and setting position. An air suspension can be built up for enabling rotation of the tool. To this end, a source of pressurized air is provided which enables a certain throughput of air. At least one air outlet opens at the bearing surface, while receiving pressurized air from the said source. A switching device either admits or prohibits access of pressurized air to the air outlet. A throttle valve is connected to the source of pressurized air for limiting the throughput of air.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 1997Date of Patent: May 16, 2000Assignee: PWB AGInventor: Helmuth Graf

Patent number: 6044934Abstract: A locking device for a linear movement unit (1) ensures quick and precise locking by providing a guidance when two clamping members (9) pivot into a clamping position substantially free from any play. The guidance is provided by at least first and second guide surfaces (12, 13 or 14, 15) so that the clamping members engage a guide rod (4) simultaneously to lock the unit on it, thus avoiding any spluttering.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 1997Date of Patent: April 4, 2000Assignee: PWB AGInventor: Ferenc Nemeth

Patent number: 5438911Abstract: A pneumatic control device has a control cylinder with dovetailed guiding means with a guiding rail and a guiding groove for holding and guiding housings of reed-contacts or the like. The cross-sectional area of the substantially trapezoidal guiding rail of the contact housing has not the same shape as the trapezoidal cross-sectional area of the corresponding guiding groove of the control cylinder. Provided both elements (rail and groove) have substantially the same height or depth, the width of the guiding rail at the side adjacent to the contact housing is smaller than the gap width (121) of the guiding groove (12) at its open side. The total width of the guiding rail is unilaterally shortened to a size determined by a circle drawn around an edge at the narrow side of the guiding rail having a radius (133) that is at the maximum equal to the gap width (12) of the guiding groove (12).Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1994Date of Patent: August 8, 1995Assignees: Numatics GmbH, PWB AGInventors: Reiner Fiedler, Johann Supanz

Patent number: 5251987Abstract: The presetting device for tools has an anti-friction bearing (13, 15) and a bearing sleeve (13) with an inner wall surface and an outer wall surface, the bore of which is provided in order to receive a conically developed bearing pin (3), with the also conical inner wall surface. The anti-friction bearing is developed as a needle bearing (13, 15). The bearing sleeve (13) also has a conical outer wall surface which is seated in the conical wall surfaces of a bearing bushing (9) and which is itself developed as needle-bearing sleeve (13) bearing the needle rollers (15).Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1992Date of Patent: October 12, 1993Assignee: PWB AGInventor: Johannes Supanz
