Patents Assigned to Pyramid Manufacturing Company
  • Patent number: 4269009
Abstract: Low level base means extend longitudinally on the earth's surface. Drilling mast support means are positioned adjacent and pivotally connected to the base means and setback tower means are pivotally connected to the mast support means and to the base means. Drilling mast means are secured to the mast support means. Lifting frame means are connected to the drilling mast support means whereby said drilling mast support means, mast connected thereto and setback tower means may be simultaneously elevated from a reclined position to an upright position on the base means. Cable means may be secured at one end to the lifting frame means and extended around sheave means on the base means over sheave means on the lifting frame means and under sheave means on the mast support means.

  • Patent number: 4204664
Abstract: A winch mechanism includes a first and a second drum each having multiple grooves therein. A frame supports the first drum spaced from the second drum with the axis of rotation of the first drum canted relative to the rotational axis of the second drum such that the grooves at the top of the first drum are substantially aligned with corresponding grooves at the top of the second drum and the grooves at the bottom of the first drum are substantially aligned with grooves adjacent to the corresponding grooves at the bottom of the second drum. A cable is alternately wrapped between the grooves of the first and second drums with at least one of the drums being driven to draw in and feed out the cable.

  • Patent number: 4201022
Abstract: A first wheeled trailer means includes support means for supporting a mast and drawworks thereon and a second wheeled trailer means includes an upright structure for supporting the mast in upright positon to conduct well operations. The second trailer means also includes ramp and platform means to receive and position the first trailer means thereon in elevated position whereby the mast may be pivotally engaged with the upright structure of the second trailer means so that thereafter the mast may be raised to an upright position for conducting well operations. The first and second trailer means also include cooperating means to position and secure them together to form a base substructure support for the elevated mast and the drawworks while the well operations are performed.

  • Patent number: 4172529
Abstract: The specification discloses a crane including a base having a boom pivotally supported at one end from the base. The opposite end of the boom is adapted for receiving the load to be carried by the crane. A mast and upper tension member system are affixed to the top surface of the boom, supporting the load receiving end of the boom so that the boom structure is relieved of bending moments. Hydraulic cylinders are connected between the base and the boom for elevating and lowering the boom. In one embodiment the upper tension member system includes a spring and dampener which serves to cushion dynamic overloads during operation of the crane. In another embodiment a counterweight is hingedly attached to the end of the boom supported from the base. The weight of the counterweight is borne by a cable which joins into the upper tension member system.

  • Patent number: 4138805
Abstract: A first and second mobile trailer means are secured together for forming a base substructure support for a mast, setback tower and drawworks. A working floor is provided in elevated position above the base substructure support when the mast, setback tower and drawworks is in position to conduct well operations. The telescoping mast and setback structure is pivotally carried on the first trailer means and a drawworks is pivotally carried by the second trailer means. A power and rig up arrangement is provided to elevate in a desired sequence the mast, setback structure and drawworks to a desired position for securing on the base substructure support formed by the first and second trailer means for conducting well operations.
