  • Publication number: 20140226063
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are described for protecting camera components on a surface and/or within an internal portion of a portable electronic device. In one aspect, an electronic device might comprise a camera mount, which might comprise a camera barrel assembly configured to have a camera affixed thereto, the camera barrel assembly being rotatably coupled with one of a front panel, a rear panel, or a chassis of the electronic device. The camera mount may further comprise a set of cantilever springs affixed to one of the front panel, the rear panel, or the chassis and biased against the camera barrel assembly to provide rotational friction on the camera barrel assembly. The set of cantilever springs might have sufficient compliance to allow the camera to retract into a body of the portable electronic device upon encountering an external force, which may include an impact force or a dropping force.

  • Publication number: 20110127392
Abstract: A collapsible and adjustable electronics support with a releasably lockable rotatable base having a link with adjustable drag hinges connecting the releasably lockable rotatable base to a receiver for a polygonal support adapter. One or two tools for adjusting the drag hinges are included with first and second releasably snap-fit covers for respective first and second link sides of the link. The covers also cover the adjustable device in the drag hinge ends. The releasably lockable rotatable base is a four-part base with an adhesive part, a flexible and resilient panel supporting an axle, a first rigid panel rotationally fixed relative to the flexible and resilient panel, and a second rigid panel that rotates relative to the first rigid panel. The low profile in a collapsed configuration avoids rubbing the environmental surface to which it is attached. Wire management guides are provided on the receiver.

  • Publication number: 20110000740
Abstract: A speaker enclosure, or enclosure, and kit with plural linearly aligned panels connected by flexible couplings are shipped in a parallel stack with all the coupled panels still coupled during shipment, plus additional panels, also stacked parallel. The flexible couplings may be provided by a single sheet of flexible substrate coupled to the linearly aligned panels. One side of the assembled speaker enclosure includes a middle panel of the coupled panels, having at least one flat rabbet joint. The external length of the middle panel is long enough to permit folding of at least one of the outermost of the panels, with flexible substrate and a covering, under the middle panel. The assembled speaker enclosure is held together with a flexible substrate, adhesive, clamps, or preferably, any two thereof. Openings for speakers and connector cups are provided. The kit includes adhesive, instructions, at least one connector cup, and hardware.

  • Patent number: 7369093
Abstract: An antenna for electromagnetic waves including a quantum interference filter, at least one low-temperature transistor and primary antenna structures, means for deriving an electromagnetic wave from the circuit, cooling elements and insulating means. The interference filter and the transistor act as active components, the primary antenna structure is connected up to at least one of the active components in such a way that upon incidence of an electromagnetic wave on the primary antenna structure there is present at the output of the at least one active component a conducted electromagnetic wave, and wherein at least one part of the circuit and at least one part of the primary antenna structure are thermally insulated, the thermal insulation is frequency transparent to electromagnetic waves, and the cooling elements are designed to cool down at least one part of the circuit below the transition temperature of at least one of the superconducting materials.

  • Patent number: 6719330
Abstract: A tubing/fitting connection provides secure sealing attachment of a tubing to a fitting. In a described embodiment, a flexible tubing is connected to a non-rigid fitting using a retainer which grips both the tubing and the fitting. The retainer also internally supports the tubing, and may sealingly engage both the tubing and the fitting.

  • Patent number: 6690162
Abstract: A device is proposed for high-resolution measurement, in particular for high-resolution absolute measurement of magnetic fields, having a network (1) of transitions (3) between superconductors (5, 6) which exhibit Josephson effects, called junctions below, the network comprising closed meshes (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13), denoted by cells below, which in each case have junctions (3), which junctions are connected in a superconducting fashion, and at least three of these cells being connected in a superconducting and/or nonsuperconducting fashion. The object of the invention consists in further developing this device in such a way that it is possible to make absolute measurements of magnetic fields in a highly sensitive fashion.
