Patent number: 8473027Abstract: A draping provides at least partial and preferably complete coverage of MRI coils, an MRI table and an MRI support system thereby protecting a patient and the equipment. Draping notch fold down flaps may be pushed into shaped apertures of an MRI apparatus by the patient's breast due to the design of the draping. This offers a barrier between the patient and the equipment pad providing the patient with warmth, comfort and protection from infectious diseases such as Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The draping reduces the clean up and improves the procedure turnaround time for the technologist.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2009Date of Patent: June 25, 2013Assignee: QSUM Biopsy Disposables LLCInventor: Cynthia Ruth Henke-Sarmento

Patent number: 8196586Abstract: A draping system for use in medical procedures includes a drape portion adapted to cover a surface, such as medical equipment or a patient, and serves as a barrier to fluid and debris during medical procedures. The draping system may have a fastening portion affixed to the drape portion and adapted to secure the drape portion to medical equipment. The drape portion may form a pocket for collecting debris resulting from a medical procedure. The drape portion may have an opening therein spanned by a non-porous, elastic membrane.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2010Date of Patent: June 12, 2012Assignee: QSUM Biopsy Disposables LLCInventors: Cynthia Ruth Henke-Sarmento, B. Publication number: 20110124949Abstract: A stabilization device that may be used in connection with a radiation therapy procedure such as a breast brachytherapy procedure to stabilize one or more tubular members of a brachytherapy device between treatment sessions. The device includes a base member for placement over a body site of a patient and a cover member that may be positioned over the base member. The one or more tubular members may be locatable between the base and cover members and thereby stabilized relative to at least one of the base and cover members. In some embodiments, the base member may be in the form of a sheet member, and the stabilization device may include one or more resilient members that may be placed under the tubular members to limit lateral movement of the tubular members and provide a cushioning effect for the patient.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 25, 2009Publication date: May 26, 2011Applicant: QSUM Biopsy Disposables LLCInventor: Cynthia Ruth Henke-Sarmento
