Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for intercepting socket calls from applications installed on a mobile device while a first wireless interface is active. The first wireless interface is a cellular interface. Upon determining to release the intercepted socket calls to the socket layer, a second wireless interface is activated. The second wireless interface is a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) interface. The sockets calls are released to the socket layer and transmitted using the activated second wireless interface. Upon substantially completing the socket calls, the second wireless interface is deactivated. The intercepting of the socket calls and the activation of the second wireless interface occurs while the mobile device is in an idle mode.

Abstract: In a particular embodiment, a method includes forming a second hardmask layer adjacent to a first sidewall structure and adjacent to a mandrel of a semiconductor device. A top portion of the mandrel is exposed prior to formation of the second hardmask layer. The method further includes removing the first sidewall structure to expose a first portion of a first hardmask layer. The method also includes etching the first portion of the first hardmask layer to expose a second portion of a dielectric material. The method also includes etching the second portion of the dielectric material to form a first trench. The method also includes forming a first metal structure within the first trench.

Abstract: A system and method for wireless devices to efficiently receive communications by transmitting and receiving specialized beacon messages. Particularly, a wireless device may await reception of a synchronizing beacon message from a transmitting device. A relative position identifier within the synchronizing beacon message may then allow the wireless device to anticipate future beacon message transmissions and to synchronize its reception pattern with the transmitter. In this manner the wireless device need only receive and decode beacon messages germane to its operation.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, method, and computer program product for streaming 3D content from a wireless device to a remote 3D display for the viewing of the 3D content on a larger screen. In some aspects, a wireless streaming server may encode 3D motion picture content in a certain format, where each image frame includes a 2D view concatenated side-by-side with a complementary frame of depth information. The combination of the 2D view and the depth information are capable of being processed by a client display to generate a stereoscopic image representing a 3D view.
