  • Patent number: 4568323
Abstract: Strip steel stamping knives (1) and, if desired, the strip steel folding rules (2) of a strip steel stamping tool are provided in slots (3, 4) in a carrier plate (5). The strip steel stamping knives and, if desired, the strip steel folding rules protrude downwardly from the carrier plate to cooperate with a counter stamping plate (7). The backs of the stamping knives (1) and, if desired, of the folding rules (2), face a hardened pressure plate (9). In order to achieve an automatic height or elevational adjustment of the stamping knives (1), and if desired, of the folding rules (2), the backs of the stamping knives and, if desired, of the folding rules, are also constructed as hardened cutting edges (11, 12). An intermediate plate (10) is placed between the carrier plate (5) and the pressure plate (9).

  • Patent number: 4288680
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting notches in the outer surface of a cylindrical drum includes a machine frame, and a laser cutting set which provides a laser beam to cut the notches in the drum. The notches are provided to allow sheet steel strips to be later fitted on the drum, and thus form a cutting tool useful in the production of collapsible box blanks. The apparatus also includes a movable carriage for supporting the laser cutting set, and a mounting shaft is supported by the carriage for rotatably supporting the drum. A drive wheel, coaxially fitted to the mounting shaft, rotates the shaft, and the drive wheel has an engagement surface which corresponds to a cutting edge diameter later defined by the positions which the cutting edges of the steel strips assume beyond the outer circumferential surface of the drum.

  • Patent number: 4100844
Abstract: Precision male and female dies with the respective tool for manufacturing folding box blanks, are produced by photographic reproduction processes. The contour and the fold lines of a particular box blank are first drawn as an original on a light transparent film. This original forms a standard blank or standard film which is then used to produce an image of the punching knife location and of the positions of the embossing line projections on the male die. The same original is also used to produce an image of the respective groove configurations in the female die. The punching knives are then inserted into a support plate in accordance with these images. Similarly the grooves and embossing lines are produced in accordance with the respective images.
