  • Patent number: 11969613
Abstract: An explosion-proof housing having external walls, which enclose a housing interior so as to be proof against ignition penetration relative to an atmosphere at risk of explosion. At least one insert is arranged in at least one outer wall. The insert facilitates a gas flow between the housing interior and an environment around the housing. The at least one insert is configured in such a way that a gas flow having a sufficient mass flow or volumetric flow rate is permitted, but a flow connection which is proof against ignition penetration is produced. Attached to the outer wall having the at least one insert is a guiding means which together with the relevant outer wall delimits a flow channel. The flow channel defines a main flow direction of a main gas flow through the flow channel substantially parallel to the directly adjoining outer wall. In this way, the gas exchange between the environment and the housing interior can be improved and facilities arranged in the housing interior can be cooled.

  • Patent number: 11690181
Abstract: A housing according of the flameproof encapsulation protection type having a housing body which has an opening closed by a cover. The opening is surrounded by a flange which is directed outward away from the housing body. The edge of the cover lies flat on the flange. The edge and the flange are both preferably continuous. In any case, the edge and the flange do not have any passage openings for clamping means. In order to clamp the edge against the flange, clamps are provided which hold the edge and the flange pressed against each other in the manner of screw clamps. The clamps are provided with releasable clamping means and are preferably captively retained on the housing body or the cover, the clamps being movable between a closed position, in which the cover is fixedly clamped, and an open position, in which the clamps do not extend over the cover and allow the cover to be opened unhindered.

  • Patent number: 11569642
Abstract: An explosion-proof housing 10 having at least one pressure relief body 15 arranged in a pressure compensation vent opening 14 of one of the housing parts 12, 13. In order to secure the pressure relief body 15 to the housing part 12, a thickened region 20 of the housing part 12 engages over an edge zone 24 of the pressure relief body 15 along its entire peripheral surface 23 on both of its flat sides 16, 17. A resulting engaging depth Si, which is measured parallel to the flat sides 16, 17, is preferably greater than a thickness D1, D2 of the part of the thickened region 20 engaging over the edge zone 24. The pressure relief element 15 consists of sintered wire mesh. This connection is pressure-resistant and stable over a wide temperature range.

  • Patent number: 11424607
Abstract: An explosion-proof assembly (20) is provided for guiding at least one conductor device (21) through a wall without ignition transmission. The assembly (20) has at least one bushing part (24) arranged in the wall having one or more bushing openings, each of which is delimited in the circumferential direction by a bushing surface. A connecting body (23) is associated with each conductor device (21) coaxially surrounds a mounting portion of the conductor device (21) in a flamegap-free connection. The connecting body (23) has a first outer delimiting surface and the bushing opening defines a second delimiting surface. A flameproof Ex gap (34) is formed between the two delimiting surfaces by at least partial insertion of the connecting body (23) into the bushing opening. Bushing openings without a connecting body (23) are closed in a flameproof manner by a closure member (70). A securing device (52) secures the connecting body (23) in the bushing opening (48).

  • Patent number: 11381067
Abstract: An explosion-proof line bushing and method for producing the line bushing. A prespecified amount of elastomeric material is applied to a line and completely surrounds the line in a flat section in the circumferential direction. The line is inserted into a passage opening of a bushing body. The bushing body is preferably plastically deformed. After the plastic deformation, the elastomeric material substantially fills the volume remaining between the formed bushing body and line. The elastomeric material is elastically deformed and presses both against the line and the formed bushing body so that flame-proof gaps are formed between the bushing body and the line. The applied mass of the elastomeric material is determined depending on the inner volume between the formed bushing body and the line remaining.

  • Patent number: 11371689
Abstract: The luminaire according to the invention comprises an inner space that is separated into a first section and a second section by a separating wall. While the first section is free and comprises at least one light source, an operating circuit for the light source and/or other components that form potential ignition sources and/or other components that may not be considered as ignition sources are arranged in the second section. The second section is provided with an open pored fill material. The separating wall comprises at least one opening that allows a flow connection between the two sections. The section of the inner space provided with fill material serves as pressure relief volume for the first section, in which the light source is arranged. The fill material can fill the section completely or partly.

  • Patent number: 11004580
Abstract: The invention relates to an explosion-proof assembly (22) having an electrically conductive stud (23) made of a material which is not deformable radially. The stud (23) is coaxially surrounded in a central portion (23a) by an electrically insulating, electrically insulating sleeve (30). The sleeve (30) is in turn coaxially surrounded by a connecting portion (41) of a plastically deformable connecting body (40). Plastic deformation of the connecting portion (41) reduces the outer dimension thereof and the connecting portion (41) presses inwardly against the sleeve (30) to form a frictionally engaged form-fitting connection therebetween such that the connecting body (40), the sleeve (30) and the stud (23) form a structural unit with at least one stop surface (26) on the stud (23) resting against a counter stop surface of the sleeve (30).

Abstract: A plug-in device which has a blocking sleeve, which divides the plug-in operation between the plug and the socket into two path sections. In a first path section, before the electrical contact is established, explosion-proof encapsulation of the plug and the socket is brought about. The plug and the socket are initially temporarily locked in this position and further insertion is blocked. Further insertion is not enabled until the sleeve is rotated relative to the socket housing and the plug housing. Once this has occurred, the second path section can be run through, in which the electrical contact is established.
