  • Patent number: 7384670
Abstract: A rotary atomizer (1) has a rotary atomizing head (4) driven by an air motor (2) at a rotational speed of 4,000˜5,000 rpm, for example. A coating material is supplied to a central portion of the rotary atomizing head (4) through a paint supply pipe (5). The atomizer (1) further includes a supersonic horn (6) having a vibration plane (6a) located adjacent to the outer circumferential perimeter of the rotary atomizing head (4). The vibration plane (6a) is an inclined plane gradually increasing its diameter forward. The coating material immediately after spattered from the outer circumferential perimeter of the rotary atomizing head (4) is exposed to supersonic vibration from the vibration plane (6a), and it is atomized by the supersonic vibration to particles of a uniform grain size. At the same time, the atomized coating material is driven forward.

  • Patent number: 6402058
Abstract: An aerosol spray gun used selectively in two spraying modes of small and large patterns is provided. The aerosol spray gun has a throttle valve, an air duct, and a coupling link. The throttle valve has an internal air duct for supplying pressurized air to a patterning air outlet which shapes a paint spraying stream jetted out from the aerosol spray gun, and has a movable valve element to which a compressed spring applies force to open the valve. The air duct created at the tip of the movable valve element supplies a small volume of air from the internal air duct to the patterning air outlet while the movable valve element seats on a valve seat. The coupling link, coupling the movable valve element to the trigger, has an elongated hole to disconnect the trigger from the movable valve element without cooperative relation between them from an initial stage where an operator begins to squeeze the trigger to an intermediate stage before the operator fully squeezes the trigger.

  • Patent number: 5632817
Abstract: A dual component mixing system for coating comprises a first tank containing a main agent, a second tank containing a hardening agent diluted with thinner, a mixer which mixes the main agent and the hardening agent and supplies the mixture to a manually operated coating gun, a main agent line connecting the mixer and the first tank, a hardening agent line connecting the mixer and the second tank, a flow meter disposed within the main agent line, a flow meter and a flow regulating valve disposed within the hardening agent line, and a feedback control device which receives signals from the flow meters and controls the flow regulating valve so that the amount of hardening agent is a predetermined ratio with respect to the amount of main agent. The dual component mixing system according to the present invention provides an adequate control of the main agent/hardening agent ratio regardless of the differences among individuals manipulating the coating gun.

  • Patent number: 5529246
Abstract: An outer tube 5 is integrally rotated with a rotating disk 17. A powder supply passage 16 for supply of powder particles is formed between an inner tube 15 and the outer tube 5. A lower end of the inner tube 15 is secured to a sub-disk 23, and a distributing passage 25 is formed as a space between the sub-disk 23 and the rotating disk 17. Air including powder particles introduced into a separation passage 41 is separated into air and powder in the separation passage 41, and the particles are fed to the distributing passage 25 through the powder supply passage 16. The powder particles falling in the powder supply passage 16 undergo a swirling motion in accordance with the rotation of the outer tube 5, and owing to the swirling motion, the powder particles in the powder supply passage 16 are distributed uniformly in the circumferential direction.
