Patents Assigned to Rattler Tools, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7665546
Abstract: A cleanout system and method for removal of metal debris from a fluid flow, such a flow of re-circulated drilling mud employs one or more magnetic unit positioned in the path of the fluid for collecting metal particles from the flow. The magnetic unit has a removable magnet core positioned in a non-magnetic sleeve. When the core is removed from the sleeve the attracted metal particles are allowed to drop from the sleeve under gravity to facilitate their collection and disposal. A fluid deflector is positioned upstream from each magnetic unit, protecting the magnetic unit from direct impact by the strong flow. The magnetic units are allowed to pivot from side-to-side and adjust their position in the flow.

  • Patent number: 7513299
Abstract: A magnetic tool for retrieval of metal debris from a well bore particularly adapted for use in coil tubing systems. The tool has a cylindrical body and a plurality of separate magnet assemblies mounted on the tool body. The magnet assemblies are separated by spacers, which define a secondary settling area for the metal objects attracted to the magnetic tool.

  • Patent number: 7210529
Abstract: A casing brush tool for cleaning interior walls of a well bore casing. The brush tool has a free rotating sleeve mounted on a mandrel with bearings mounted between the sleeve and the mandrel to facilitate rotation. The sleeve carries a plurality of non-axial rows of bristles that are arranged to wind in a spiral, or helical fashion from one end of the sleeve to the other end. When moved in and out of the casing, the spiral rows of bristles cause rotation of the sleeve and by contacting the walls of the casing, clean the casing of the extraneous matter. A casing brush assembly may incorporate one or more of the brush tools. If more than one brush tool is used, it is preferred to use the sleeves having opposite direction of bristle rows such that the sleeves rotate in opposite directions when lowered into the well bore or retrieved from the casing.

  • Patent number: 6491117
Abstract: A tool for retrieving metal debris from a wellbore has a plurality of magnet assemblies spaced longitudinally along a tool body. Each magnet assembly has a magnet member, which forms a primary debris settling area. Each magnet member is protected by a magnet protector. A secondary debris settling area is formed between a magnet and an adjacent magnet protector to allow utilization of the residual magnetic force created by the magnet members. The secondary debris settling area occupies at least half of the surface area of the primary settling area.

  • Patent number: 6357539
Abstract: A tool for retrieving metal objects from a wellbore has a plurality of magnet assemblies spaced longitudinally along a tool body. Each magnet assembly has a plurality of magnet members, which can be arcuate or longitudinal, covering a majority surface area of the tool body. In the embodiment of the invention having longitudinal members, magnet protectors are secured immediately adjacent to a corresponding magnet member for deflecting striking force of the metal particles being attracted to the magnet during rotation of the tool. A trap space if formed between the magnet and an adjacent magnet protector for retaining more metal particles within the magnet assemblies.

  • Patent number: 5515922
Abstract: This invention relates to a tool for recovering a downhole equipment stuck in the formation. The tool provides for the use of a power source mounted a distance above the equipment to be recovered. An elongated shaft is rotationally connected to the power source, the shaft having unbalanced weight which is distributed over at least a part of its length. When the power source transmits torque to the shaft, the shaft begins to vibrate, transmitting the vibration to the downhole equipment which causes loosening of the soil surrounding the equipment and facilitates recovery of the equipment.
