Patents Assigned to REFLEX MEDICAL CORP.
  • Patent number: 11040181
Abstract: A topical applicator of the propel/repel type includes a reservoir, an attachable applicator cap, and a metered dosing system. The reservoir is suitable for mixing a topical formulation of multiple constituents using an electronic mortar and pestle and is closed using the applicator cap. Alternatively, the reservoir may be prefilled with a ready-to-use cream and medicament formulation, then sealed with a removable seal. The topical applicator can include a fast purge feature that overrides the metered dosing system to facilitate removal of air from the reservoir. The topical applicator can also include a one-way ratcheting feature to prevent reverse movement (repel) of the metered dosing system. Metered doses can be dispensed through holes in the applicator cap by rotating a knob, which has detent positions that correspond to discrete doses, and which provides audible and tactile feedback.

  • Patent number: 9332968
Abstract: A device with a vessel for saliva that has one or more optical indicators to show the volume of saliva in the container. The optical indicators use the principle of total internal reflection together with the difference in refractive index between saliva and air. In embodiments, suitable visual indicators are either visible or invisible, when reflecting surfaces are either not immersed or immersed in saliva or vice versa. The device may comprise a vessel with a saliva pathway, a saliva containment region defining a saliva reservoir, the reservoir having a desired fill level, and an optical viewing window adjacent an angled reflective surface for level indication and/or validating a fill level. The device may include patient interface components and chemical test strips.

  • Patent number: 9113850
Abstract: A device for collecting oral fluid includes a mouthpiece with a fluid inlet connected to a collection chamber. The collection chamber includes a collecting vessel, a venting outlet, and an access port. The venting outlet may be covered by a liquid-impervious or resistant membrane, such as a hydrophobic membrane, and the access port is suitable for removing some or all of the collected fluid. This arrangement allows a saliva donor to continuously spit saliva and blow air into the closed collection chamber, without pressure build-up in the collection chamber, and without the need for the donor to release from the device until the desired oral fluid volume is collected. A valve, including a check valve may be in the saliva flow stream and baffles and structure creating a tortuous path may be utilized to keep saliva away from the membrane.

  • Publication number: 20130092690
Abstract: A seal cap assembly for use with a biological specimen container, the cap assembly including an integral ampoule that holds a pre-filled agent. A piercer is movably disposed in the cap assembly to pierce into the ampoule. When the cap assembly is attached to a biological specimen container, the ampoule is pierced, the pre-filled agent in the ampoule is mixed with the specimen, and the seal cap assembly seals the biological specimen container. The seal cap assembly, together with a biological specimen container, permits stabilization, storage, and transport of biological fluid samples.
