  • Patent number: 9293898
Abstract: The protective tube comprises a plurality of warp-knitted threads that define a strip the longitudinal edges of which are in contact with or overlap each other, defining a substantially circular cross-section, wherein at least one of said threads is monofilament thread, characterised in that at least one of the threads is carried on two or more needles, forming a mesh at least every two passes and a maximum of every twenty-five passes. It gives the protective tube greater curvature than that of currently known tubes, closing completely without need for heating for the strip to acquire its tubular shape.

  • Publication number: 20150176162
Abstract: Method for the manufacture of tubular protective sleeves, comprising the steps of providing a warp knitted tissue of filaments of three components using a Raschel type loom; and shaping the tissue so that the longitudinal edges of the tissue converge towards one another and overlap, thus defining a tubular shape, the first component comprising monofilaments and/or multifilaments of a first polymer, the third component comprising an electrical conductive material, said components being distributed throughout the thickness of the tissue such that the first is present throughout the thickness, the second throughout the thickness in respect to a median plane of the tissue, the third component extends from one side of the tissue to the interior of the tissue without reaching the opposite side, the minimum weight percentages being 7% for the first, 10% for the second, 40% for the third.

  • Patent number: 8557073
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of producing protective tubes. The inventive method comprises the following steps consisting in: producing a plurality of flat warp knit bands using a Rachel loom; and shaping said flat bands such that the longitudinal ends of each flat band join together and overlap each other, thereby forming a tubular shape. The inside diameter of the tube and the overlapped segment can be controlled and defined by the method and said inside diameter can be virtually limitless.

  • Patent number: 7690225
Abstract: The invention relates to a flexible protective corrugated tube (1) comprising at least two different yarns and a plurality of larger-diameter zones (2) and a plurality of smaller-diameter zones (3) which are alternated along the length of the tube (1). The inventive tube is characterized in that first yarns (4) form a weave of weft courses combined with stitch courses. In addition, the tube can comprise second yarns (5) which also form a weave of stitch courses combined with weft courses. In this way, the tube obtained has improved flexibility, adaptability and bendability.

  • Publication number: 20080311325
Abstract: The invention relates to an open protective tube consisting of a first layer (1) comprising a plurality of plastic threads which are woven to one another and a second layer of aluminium foil (2). The invention is characterised in that the aluminium foil layer (2) consists of a film of plastic material (3) and a film of aluminium (4). According to the invention, the plastic film (3) comprises polyester and said film is welded to the first layer (1). In this way, the invention provides excellent electromagnetic and thermal insulation, as well as excellent adhesion between the first and second layers.

  • Patent number: 5000228
Abstract: Insulation sleeving, such as for providing thermal and/or electrical insulation for cables and cable connections, of the type comprising an inner sleeve of woven synthetic organic or inorganic fiber, such as fiberglass, and an outer coating of silicone elastomer. The woven fiber of the inner sleeve has a substantially open weave, i.e., the number of picks per centimeter is in the range of between about 2 and 9, andthe silicone elastomer of the outer coating has a reduced modulus of elasticity, such as between about 0.5 and 3.5 MPa at 100 percent elongation, and an increased tear strength, such as between about 5 and 45 KN/m. Insulation sleeving is elastically expandable to an extent such that its diameter can be increased up to twice its original unexpanded dimension without materially affecting the thermal, electrical and mechanical insulation properties of the sleeving thereby enabling a standard sized sleeving, i.e.
