Patent number: 11153720Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for determining a location of a mobile device within a dead zone. One example computing system includes a non-transitory computer-readable medium; and a processor in communication with the non-transitory computer-readable medium, the processor configured to execute instructions stored in the non-transitory computer-readable medium to: receive a service request from a communication device, the service request comprising one or more signal strength readings associated with a current position of the communication device; determine, using a trained machine learning model, the current position corresponds to a fingerprint within a location map based on the one or more signal strength readings; and output a control signal configured to cause the communication device to alter a state of the communication device based on location information associated with the fingerprint, wherein the state of the communication device comprises a source or type of network connectivity.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2021Date of Patent: October 19, 2021Assignee: Relay, Inc.Inventors: Matthew Newton, Dayne Batten

Patent number: 11096008Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for determining a location of a mobile device within an area of interest. One example computing system includes a processor configured to: obtain location information for areas of interest from a first device, the location information comprising signal strength readings associated with signal sources; receive a location request from a second device, the location request comprising signal strength readings associated with a current position of the second device; determine, using a machine learning model, the current position corresponds to a fingerprint within a location map, wherein the machine learning model is trained to: (i) generate the location map comprising fingerprints based on the location information; and (ii) determine a location based on a probability that a position matches a fingerprint in the location map; and determine that the current position corresponds to the fingerprint; and generate display information that includes the location of the fingerprint.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2020Date of Patent: August 17, 2021Assignee: Relay, Inc.Inventor: Dayne Batten

Patent number: 7620158Abstract: A video relay system for allowing impaired individuals to communicate across a network includes a first device capable of sending and receiving audio and video signals where the first device is coupled to a network and includes an application. The application on the first device is configured to communicate with a second device, regardless of whether the second device includes the application. The application is also configured to transmit to and receive from the second device a sign language video signal. When the first device is in a voice carryover mode, the application is configured to transmit an audio signal to the second device. When the first device is in a hearing carryover mode, the application is configured to receive an audio signal from the second device.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2005Date of Patent: November 17, 2009Assignee: Hamilton Relay, Inc.Inventors: Young Jin Park, Wayne Hahn, Gregory Stephens

Patent number: 7245705Abstract: A communications system allows individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech disabled to use computers and other web devices to connect to an Internet Portal in order to place a call. The system relays communications between a first device and a second device utilizing a third device as an intermediary where the second device is a telephone on a plain old telephone system network and the communications between the first device and third device involves the Internet. The system includes a first input and output communication device coupled to a network and is configured to send and receive communication messages, a server device that receives a session request from the first input and output communication device and sends a call to a call distribution device, a second input and output communication device coupled to a plain old telephone system, and a third input and communicating with the first input and output communication device using a chat room interface.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2004Date of Patent: July 17, 2007Assignee: Hamilton Relay, Inc.Inventors: Greg E. Stephens, Wayne D. Hinerman

Patent number: 4201437Abstract: An arrangement for supporting electrical plug-in components which includes a mounting member defining an opening through which extend opposed flexible walls of a retaining unit having a bottom portion which carries one component to be secured, the component engaging the undersurface of the mounting member while shoulders formed on the edges of the retaining unit engage holding fingers extending into the opening of the mounting member. Locking clips are inserted between the electrical component and the retaining unit to prevent withdrawal of the socket and retaining unit. A relay fits between opposed walls of the retaining unit on the other side of the mounting member and includes a pair of radially extending pins which latch the relay to the retaining unit and also extend into recesses in a post fixed to the top of the relay to hold a latch operating knob and the pins to the relay.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1978Date of Patent: May 6, 1980Assignee: Deutsch Relays, Inc.Inventor: John Lockyer

Patent number: 3940724Abstract: The relay contact adjusting arrangement of this invention involves the positioning of the header assembly and motor assembly of the relay in a fixed spaced relationship prior to final assembly, with the fixed and movable contacts in opposed pairs, and associated with an optical comparator so that enlarged images of the opposed contacts can be seen, after which adjusting tools are used to bend the supports of the fixed contacts for adjusting the spacing successively for each opposed pair of contacts to a spacing indicated on the screen of the comparator. The device includes a means for energizing the relay coil to hold the armature in a desired position while the adjustment takes place, and provides for the indexing of the assemblies through 180.degree. to allow both the normally open and normally closed contacts to be viewed on the comparator screen.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1974Date of Patent: February 24, 1976Assignee: Deutsch Relays, Inc.Inventors: Thomas C. Cleary, Joseph W. Schleisner
