Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for the quantitative analysis of a sample comprising glycated hemoglobin. Also described herein are systems and methods for assaying a sample to quantitatively determine the percentage of glycated hemoglobin in the sample, for example, in a blood sample. The methods and systems described herein may be used in a point-of-care device as well as in other in vitro diagnostic devices.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a method for performing a lateral flow assay. The method includes depositing a sample on a test strip at an application region, detecting a first detection signal arising from the test strip in the first detection zone, and generating a baseline for the first measurement zone by interpolating between values of the detection signal outside of the first measurement zone and inside of the first detection zone. The method may include locating a beginning boundary and an ending boundary for the first measurement zone on the test strip. Additional detection zones having measurement zones may also be incorporated with the embodiment.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a lateral flow assay and system, including a test strip, for detection and quantification of analytes in samples, such as samples containing cells and fluid. In general, according to the present invention, a test strip for a lateral flow assay for detection of at least one analyte in a sample comprises: (1) a chromatographic strip, a sample filter, a fluid-impermeable barrier, and means for providing a mobilizable detectable agent that is capable of binding to the at least one analyte or to the capture agent after capturing the analyte to the chromatographic strip such that the mobilizable detectable agent migrates through the chromatographic strip and contacts sample that has passed through the sample filter and also has migrated through the chromatographic strip. The test strip allows detection with or without quantitation of an analyte in a sample containing whole cells.
Abstract: The present invention provides a test strip with an expanded dynamic range for performing an assay to determine the presence of, or measure the quantity of, an analyte in a sample. It also provides methods for determining the presence of, or measuring the quantity of, an analyte in a sample, and for detecting a prozone sample.
