Patent number: 11711484Abstract: A system for stitching images together is disclosed. The images are sometimes referred to as frames, such as frames in a video sequence. The system comprises one or more imagers (e.g. cameras) that work in coordination with a matching amount of custom code modules. The system achieves image stitching using approximately one third the Field of View (FOV) of each imager (camera) and also by increasing the number of imagers to be above a predetermined threshold. The system displays these stitched images or frames on a computer monitor, either in a still-image context but also in a video-context. Normally these tasks would involve a great detail of computation, but the system achieves these effects while managing the computational load. In stitching the images together, it is sometimes necessary to introduce some image distortion (faceting) in the combined image. The system ensures no gaps in any captured view, and assists in achieving full situational awareness for a viewer.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2022Date of Patent: July 25, 2023Assignee: Bevilacqua Research CorpInventors: Robert Pilgrim, Roy Brown, Chuck Bryant, Lee Gay, Glenn Hembree

Patent number: 11238238Abstract: A system and method for lowering probability that low data rates, high bit error rates, and susceptibility to signal degradation in communication environments during storms, solar activity, and adversarial activity is disclosed. The system and method affect communications by minimizing the amount of data/information that needs to be transmitted, partly by creating an algorithmic process/method that moves knowledge and not data and information. The system and method is based upon the realization that structured communications often possess a similar level of context that can be exploited to communicate full meaning (knowledge), even when only a small fraction of the message is transmitted to the receiver. Reducing the number of bytes transmitted significantly reduces the probability that a transmission will be affected by either naturally occurring or human supplied factors present in modern communication environments.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2020Date of Patent: February 1, 2022Assignee: Bevilacqua Research CorpInventors: Andy Bevilacqua, Roy Brown, Glenn Hembree

Patent number: 10983068Abstract: Systems and methods include directing limited frequencies of microwave signals toward target molecules, driving a motion of the target molecules to impact molecular recognition. In one implementation, a microwave spectra associated with the rotational modes of a target molecule is obtained. From peaks in the spectra, a mode of molecular movement is identified and a microwave signal profile is generated for driving a motion of binding portions of the molecule associated with the identified mode. Microwave signals are generated based on the signal profile for output by antennas. For example, the microwave signals can be can be used to impede the binding of quorum sensing molecules by receptors of P. aeruginosa. In one implementation, the antennas can be placed in a catheter for placement in a patient. In another implementation, the antennas can be placed in a sleeve or other device for use adjacent to the skin of a patient.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2013Date of Patent: April 20, 2021Assignee: Georgia Tech Research Corp.Inventors: William Hunt, Kyle Spencer Davis, Michelle LaPlaca, Chris Ward, John Alexander Herrmann

Patent number: 10920243Abstract: Methods for elucidating biopolymer interactions with known and/or unknown small molecules (e.g. candidate drug compounds) are disclosed. These methods utilize novel (usually motile) organisms transformed with one or more heterologous biopolymer sequences. Biopolymer expression is promoted in cells mediating movement in said organism, generally dually-promoted in paired sets of cells mediating oppositely-directed movement. Modulation of motility in the resultant organism due to the presence of small molecules demonstrates small molecule interaction with said natural and/or mutated biopolymer. Analyzed in a chemical gradient, one or more interacting small molecule species can be identified by oriented migration, even in the presence of one or more non-interacting small molecule species. A competing and/or interfering biopolymer can be introduced without obscuring the motility signal.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2010Date of Patent: February 16, 2021Assignee: Biotica Research Corp.Inventor: William J.
